Another QB Recruit?

Would this be a good place to inquire about the top 3-4 candidates for the remaining two back-dated slots or should there be a separate thread because the time is so close?

Perfect place for that question.

1. K Corey Smith (committed and ready to report early)
2. QB Zack Stoud, Cliff's son (prospect that was asked would be willing to report early)
3. DB Charles Whitlock (prospect offered scholarship that is graduating early)

After those three I have not heard much discussion.

When was the last time anything came up about Ricks maybe being 1 of 'em ?

Zack Stoudt and his team the Dublin Coffman Shamrocks are doing very well this season. They are in the playoffs with a record of 12-0. Stoudt was named the Central All-District Football Offensive player of the year and he is considered the best college QB prospect in Ohio.

Dublin Coffman Shamrocks

Coffman completes 10-0 run
Executed well" would be an understatement for senior quarterback Zack Stoudt, who completed 15 of 17 passes for 246 yards and four touchdowns, with one of the two incompletions coming on a dropped pass.

Well as far as I have heard Michael Ricks is still at UNA, not playing FB, but trying to get academically qualified for Alabama. I would think if he can get qualified and report to Bama early in Dec or Jan that he would be able to be counted back to 2007. I have not heard any update on his situation lately.

I knew he was trying but , hadn't heard anything for a couple of months . There's a member who knows him and would know about any level of current contact but , I can't remember who the member is/was . :conf2:

I'll see what I can find out from my coaching buddies.

Thanks guys! The kid looks good i hope we get him!

Zack Stoudt has completed 70 percent of his passes and finished the regular season with 2,589 yards and 28 TDs.

Here is another article with some good info about Stoudt from the Lancaster Eagle-Gazette.

Shamrocks stifle Tigers
On the Shamrocks second play from scrimmage, Stoudt let one fly on a perfect line for Stoneburner, hitting the senior wideout between Tiger defenders Patrick White and Josh Kristoff. Stoneburner broke through White's tackle attempt and took the ball in for the game's first score, a 56-yard pass-and-catch that made the count 7-0, a little more than five minutes into the action.

Zack Stoudt looks like one that is flying under the radar. All the pieces are there, size, arm and father ex-pro QB. Where ever he goes i have a feeling hes gonna be a good one.

How many spots do we have open for this?

Hey surf I don't think Cliff Soudt has any eligibility left. He was great in his day but he would be a step or two too slow for these guys.

I remember when he played for Pittsburg and for the Birmingham Americans, great QB.

I meant to say QB Zack Stoud, Cliff's son. ;) I actually remember sitting in Legion Field watching Cliff and the Stallions in a play-off game back in the day.

I'm almost certain it was the Birmingham Americans of the old WFL that featured larry Csonka on the TN team. ONe of our posters has the teams logo as his icon. Soutdt and the Americans won the only WFL championship game that was played and the next day the creditors were at the locker room picking up the equipment. I listened to them on the radio. Clif Stoudt was a big old boy as best I can remember, tall, rangey and a very accurate passer.

I'm sure Zach has heard firsthand from his Dad about southern football the way it's played at BAMA.
