THAT is exactly why the au fambly would prefer that the recruits visit WITHOUT the parents. :cool2:I have no inside info or contacts, but I do know that it's easy to get a high school kid in a really compromising situation, perhaps wildly out of context, then threaten to tell his family and others he did something bad if he doesn't do what you want. The info that was made public sure smelled like that sort of thing to me. Pure speculation based on Trooper's earlier rumored history.
I do know that the AU recruiting tactics tend to get you the sort of kids who rob trailers and violate enough rules to have to transfer to Arkansas State. Raw talent is just one piece of the puzzle.
I'm sure that the barners are attempting to figure out how AJ detected their surveillance. How conspicuous can two guys wearing barner clothing driving around T-Town with binoculars and a disposable camera on a camouflaged tractor be?

HAHA..Bert has the Urban Meyer psycho look going on..![]()
Maybe this help AJ figure out who was following him?
I thought it was comedy gold, I had to wipe the sarcasm from my screen, but each their own. As Earle has told me in the past , Sarcasm sometimes doesn't come across as planned. That is why emoticons were invented. Word to the wise, sarcasm got me BANNED for life once, use the tools available.Apparently sarcasm escapes some people.![]()
I would be surprised if some of these guys are on scholarship..........that's why the numbers are kept under wraps. Talented enough to play D1 ball and rich enough to pay for it too? I'd sign 125 of those guys if I could....Probably the same people that made a big deal about GMac's Range Rover last year......until they found out his dad has money. Not every athlete on scholarship comes from a deprived background.
Are you meaning straight from high school? Are there NCAA rules to prevent a five star recruit who comes from a wealthy family being a "walk on"?
As it has been since Saban arrived, each and every vehicle driven by a player on scholarship is vetted in detail - title traced and family required to show proof of means to purchase. Ignore all AU posts about vehicles. The NCAA has ignored all of their attempts to incite investigation and Bama fans should also. In Dre's case, their resident gumshoe (I think he has a burglar alarm company, or something like that), "IronTiger," I believe, made up a huge package of "proof of wrongdoing" and sent it to the NCAA and Finebaum. At the cost of $150,000 we had an outside law firm do an investigation which made his "report" look amateurish, which is what it was. Result - none, but they'll keep trying. It's past weird to be haunted by the dirtiest team in the league...They are now making a big deal out of D.J. Fluker's ride. You can rest assure that if a photo of an Alabama player's transportation makes it to the Internet, it was from an Aub playing detective.
Yes. Let's say some super rich guy has a stud athlete for a son and doesn't want to accept the scholarship since he can afford to pay for it himself. He is an Alabama grad and wants his son to go there but also wants to save the school a scholarship. Would we get an extra scholarship to use in that scenario? Are you meaning straight from high school?
That's correct. It's not really all that unusual...Yes. We wouldn't get an "extra" scholarship so to speak. The player wouldn't sign a scholarship. He'd be classified as a walk-on.Yes.
