Another “hot girl” will come along. Just be patient. It’ll be fine.
I hate that we are losing Grubb and Huff, but none of us know if this is how they wanted to leave. Grubb may have wanted to come out and be honest about the situation. He may have been asked to keep it under wraps until the portal closed. His agent may have told him to say he was staying to get an extra million added on his contract. His family may love Seattle. Good grief, he's a football coach. This is like those people who listen to actors for political advice. It's absurd. When you get lawyers and agents involved, you can't expect integrity to be involved. That ship sailed long ago.It isn't that Grubb left for Seattle. It is how he did it. "There are ways that you can leave and there are ways that you shouldn't leave" (former A&M player and Alabama coach Gene Stallings).
Kinda like Tubs, "the only way I'm leaving Ole Miss is in a pine box"Grubb has no integrity. None. Speaking before the REC on Wednesday, saying he’s the OC, then this.
I do like the idea of pittman.Maybe this will be a good opportunity to hire some coaches at those spots who are good recruiters as well, preferably with SEC/Southern ties. It’s DeBoer’s system, so I’m not that concerned about the offensive scheme. The only real knock on Washington’s staff was that weren’t great recruiters.
Somebody call Sam Pittman and Chip Kelly him on over here for the OL position!![]()
People in Miami have an opinion too about coaches saying they ain’t leaving, aaight?Kinda like Tubs, "the only way I'm leaving Ole Miss is in a pine box"
I guess we kind of know how Dolphin fans felt in ‘07 now.Affirming or not, I will not be relieved until the Seahawks hire someone and their name is not Grubb. As Bama fans, we all know very well how a coach can say they are not taking a job one day and then take that job the next.
It’s a horrible look the way he left, which reveals a defect in his character. I have more respect for shady characters selling contraband out of the trunk of their car than some of these assistants. Grubb definitely included. It isn't that Grubb left for Seattle. It is how he did it. Character might be a question but comparisons to a shady contraband dealer is a bit over the top IMO. As others have mentioned the Seattle job rumor has been floating around for a while now and he may have been asked by CKD to delay the announcement until Bama’s portal window closed. I’ve had several opportunities over the years to work out of state but declined because I wanted to stay in my cultural comfort zone and/or out of big cities like Houston and states like New York, Ohio and Massachusetts. It’s a horrible look the way he left, which reveals a defect in his character. These aren’t normal families, they won’t be staying in normal parts of the city. Not sure why anyone would want their family in Seattle. Its not the 90s, place is dangerous
I’m not happy but come on. Did everyone posting about Grubb’s poor character now say the same thing about Saban when he said he wasn’t taking the Bama job and then took the job? No Bama fan questioned his character so why question Grubb’s just because we are not the benefactors this time? It’s not a great look because of what Grubb said earlier in the week, just like it wasn’t a great look for Saban in ‘06-07.It’s a horrible look the way he left, which reveals a defect in his character. That is what I was thinking apparently UW must not think too highly of him if they did he would have been HC at Washington.I don't think Grubb ever wanted to leave Seattle to begin with. He wanted the Head Coach job at UW but didn't get it. Now he won't have to move his family across the country and also won't have to deal with recruiting & NIL.
I agree that losing Huff hurts as much as losing Grubb, but “disaster?” That seems extreme. Losing one piece in a system that depends on so many pieces for success is hardly a disaster. Obviously, some pieces are bigger and more impactful, but I don’t think Coach Deboer’s program will go from having a legitimate chance to compete in the most difficult conference in the country to “disaster” over one piece.Losing Huff hurts as much as the OC. The OC loss means that DeBoer will have to spend time teaching coaches instead of his staff teaching players. The OL coach loss is a disaster. There are very few good oline coaches out there, and none uses the oline the way that DeBoer wants to. Add the lack of experience on Alabama's roster - disaster.
Two pieces... OC and OLI agree that losing Huff hurts as much as losing Grubb, but “disaster?” That seems extreme. Obviously it is two pieces, but the comment I replied to said that losing Huff was the “disaster.” If there is one thing we Bama fans should have learned by now it is that assistant coaches come and go (often at Bama) but it can be overcome. Coach Saban overcame it almost every season he was the Alabama head coach. Can Coach Deboer overcome it with the same level of success? We will see. I guess that will be part of the journey in this new era of Alabama football. Two pieces... OC and OL
That's arguably the two most critical.
We went from two guys who knew the Playcalling and Blocking concepts backwards and forwards with tons of experience on Gameday to having to break in two new Coaches who have to be taught everything who are then expected to teach the players.
Things went from an uber smooth transition coaching wise on Offense to a bumpy learning curve.
Feels disastrous to me.
This isn't a simple Offense. It's VERY complex.
They are rich, they will not be mingling with the common folk. Not sure why anyone would want their family in Seattle. Its not the 90s, place is dangerous
