Link: ATH Keenan Allen has decommitted from Alabama

ESPN's saying that if Allen doesn't come to BAMA that Aub will pass us in the recruiting rankings. Have we become so deep with talent that we are now scaring off recruits? I guess that's a good problem to have!

If Coleman signs with us and Lattimore doesn't commit to Auburn then we should still be ahead in the end whether Allen comes or not

Saw this on a couple of threads elsewhere, but here from a Clemson board:

"Maurice Harris is a class of 2011 WR at NGHS and already has offers from Alabama, Cal, Clemson, etc. He is also Allen’s cousin."

Hopefully, our staff will back away and move on, if that's true...

This was discussed in another thread. Harris is Allen's cousin's and Alabama has offered Harris already, so he must be a good one.

We do not need to get into comparing our recruiting classes with Auburn!

Regardless of the outcome, these are young men that Saban has hand chosen to fit into our team. Anyone he wants, I want!

(\Puts on his Crimson Glasses)
That being said, I still think we have a chance at Keenan!

barn has a great class. Saban is losing his touch. chiz is a better coach. Bama is doomed. We will never win the iron bowl again.

On some of the other boards I lurk on, that is the feeling some folks have. They seem to forget that Bama has talent piled on top of talent. Sure barns class is good, but ours is just as good if not better. The previous 2 classes really stockpiled the talent so I think we'll be just fine without KA and his following sanctions.

Auburn has an excellent class, no doubt. Here is the difference. Who is going to coach them up and develop them better? Saban has 2 national titles, and Gene Chizik has 13 wins...total...in 3 years as a head coach. Man, any ignorant fool can say that Auburn has a better class, but in 4 years I have no doubt that our guys will be MUCH MORE developed than theirs.

what he said

Auburn's class could end up ranked higher, but honestly, would I trade our class for theirs? No way. Even give them Coleman and Lattimore ... still no way I would trade.

I mean, good job by them and all, but just sayin' ... ours is the better class.

Of all things, I'm reading on ITAT, by Mark Green, of all people, that the situation's reversed and KA is signing with Bama. I'm sure they're wrong as usual...

Well my barn cousin is driving me crazy already
- so if we could finish with Allen (minus his brother) and stealing Coleman to bump us back ahead that would be a great signing day. But definitely not holding my breath on Allen.

To possibly follow up 2 number 1 classes with another Top 5 class is much harder to do than recruiting that first Top 5 class. No disrespect to the Auburn staff, but let's see how they follow this one up...

To stay in line with the thread, oh well on Keenan Allen. As I've alluded to in another thread, programs aren't built around one player, much less one recruit...

Chuck Oliver, Auburn Grad, said on his show today that there are some very questionable things going on with KA and his recruitment. Gave Saban props for backing off.

do tell...

According to Chuck Oliver, Saban was the one to pull the plug on KA. He said that there are alot of rumblings that alot of shady things started going on with KA's recruitment and that he believes that whoever gets him will end up on probabtion. Compared it to the Hartley Dikes recruitment that got a few schools in trouble.
