****Bama vs. AU - Post Game Thread****

The most frustrating part about this is that the replay officials don't know the rules. It's very straightforward.. http://www.foxsports.com/college-fo...s-refs-calls-rules-replay-mike-pereira-112914
That really bugs me with instant replay. It stops the flow of the game, and they still don't get the call right half the time. Anyone with eyes could see that Sylve had the ball. It should have been an interception, but they gave the ball to the offensive player when he only had one hand on it. In the LSU-A&M game there was a very weak targeting call that I thought they would reverse, but they upheld it. It happens all of the time.

In the first half there were a lot of no-calls on blocking downfield by Auburn. Those were generally HUNH. I am convinced the HUNH is only a stretching out of the rules. Wish the refs would set the tempo. I thought this ref group did a very good job for the most part though (excepting the blown call on the catch/interception) -- for SEC officials.

Seeing the reviews of the interception that wasn't for Sylve and evidently the rule is the player that touches the ground first when both players are in the air is awarded the ball. It should have been called an INT. Blown call that could have cost is the game. This is opinion of Mike Pereira among others.

I'm a little surprised M.P. said this. At the least, it should have been called a non-catch.

Sylve's foot came down first. Should have been an easy call to make if the replay officials know what the rules are..

I'll admit, at halftime I didn't think we had much of a chance to win. When we threw a pick on the first drive of the 3rd, I said "Game Over". Still can't believe we turned it around so quickly and so decisively. The interception by Nick Perry was huge and I think really keyed the whole turnaround. We got a ton more pressure on Marshall with the d-line in the 2nd half, and Sylve played the game of his life off the bench. Then its like we just flipped the switch on O and it was over for them. All of the seemingly stupid, cutesy play calls turned into offensive brilliance after the break, and besides the opening drive pick, Sims was absolute gold down the stretch. Cooper was incredible as usual and Yeldon looked like a man possessed in the run game.

What a complete team win, I've never seen anything like it. These guys just will not be denied. I think you could put them up against ISIS with nothing but pocket knives and they'd come out on top in the end. Unbelievable.

For some reason I got this strange confidence at the half. We had played the worst quarter I've ever seen us play but somehow we were only down by 5 points. After the 3rd interception, you still did not see Blake defeated. They were warming up Coker but I just knew CNS was going to stay with Sims... especially after we held them to a field goal. We just got better and better as the game wore on.

One last point about the Sylve call. To me it's so egregious for the replay officials to not make the correct call in that situation. I think we can all understand when an official misses a bang-bang call in real time and they don't have the ability to be sitting in a booth with slomotion and can continually replay the play until they decide on the call. That replay official needs to be held accountable. I'm assuming his sole job in that situation is to know the rules of the game, which clearly he does not.

If only fans from both sides would resist the urge to call in to his show. I get it that's how Finebaum makes a living but man, I wish someone/something would make it stop.

Yeah, it is hard to fight the stigma of Alabama being a backwards, brain dead bunch of redneck idiots when there are so many who perpetuate the stereo-type. There is a poster on this board, I believe, who has a Bertrand Russell quote that basically says that the trouble with the world is that idiots are cocksure while the intelligent people are full of doubt. Finebaum's show demonstrates that saying all the time.

I'm so glad we won, the bitterness in a lot of people's faces and voices warms my spirit lol. Also I hope we win the SEC championship game because I want us to play FSU or either Oregon and beat them, so we can end the debate once and for all. RTR!!!

My mom, brother, sister etc hate Alabama the state and the team, so imagine how hard it is for me as a fan to watch the game comfortably around them. That's why I come here.

CONGRATULATIONS on a well fought game.

The CHARACTER of this team is what made this victory possible!

Blake came back and redeemed himself (as I knew he would) and what can you say about Coop?

These guys are champions....they are warriors.

RTR!

One thing we need to do is show appreciation for Lane Kiffin... He got us points that we needed to win the game. I"m not sure we could get this many points against Auburn like that with previous OC, Nuss. We finally got our running game going, Just so proud of the team. Game ball goes to Slyve, Yeldon, Cooper and.... OL line.
I completely agree. The decision to go deep to Coop really was a game changer and it opened up the running game. Hats off to Kiffin.

About to head out head out of Tuscaloosa. That was one of the craziest games I've ever been to. After we threw the first INT of the 2nd half and AU scored the TD, it complete sucked the energy out of the crowd. During the tv timeout it was probably the quietest I've ever heard BDS. To go from that to the way it was completely rocking in the 4th was crazy. Coop had an incredible game. Props to the changes we made at CB for the second half. One of the criticisms has always been the lack of in game adjustments. We didn't shut them down completely in the 2nd half, but got the job done.

Got to give AU cedit. They played hard and didn't quit. We played bad and got whipped in the first half.
