****Bama vs. AU - Post Game Thread****

It's nice to be able to crush their dreams for a change; no chance to play spoiler and no chance for back-to-back 10 win seasons. While CNS sets another record for consecutive 11 win seasons. Plus it is the barn.
Sweet, sweet, sweet.
Now for the Tiguh Trifecta - maybe chance to set another "record", I don't think anyone in the SEC has beaten these three Tiguhs in the same season (yet).
We did it the first year Mizzou was in the SEC I think.

All I can say is Wow. I want to give props to every coach and every player on both teams. That was one heck of a ball game. I watched a field full of warriors give their all in battle and am so thankful that I was there to watch it. There were pros and cons and ups and downs on both sides, but both teams fought through it to the very end.
Whatever happens next Saturday, and in this post-season, last night's IB is one for the ages, and I don't think any of us will forget it anytime soon. I know I won't.

Yeah, it is hard to fight the stigma of Alabama being a backwards, brain dead bunch of redneck idiots when there are so many who perpetuate the stereo-type. There is a poster on this board, I believe, who has a Bertrand Russell quote that basically says that the trouble with the world is that idiots are cocksure while the intelligent people are full of doubt. Finebaum's show demonstrates that saying all the time.

Indeed. The beginning of wisdom is knowing you don't know as much as you think you do.

i didn't think anyone read the signature lines ;)

If you are able to watch a replay of Finebaum's show...it is worth it. The majority of the show is actually them breaking down the plays. There are a few calls, but I just fast forwarded them.

I really enjoyed Greg going into detail about certain plays and why they were or were not successful.

While you're on ITAT, advise them that there is no "no contact after five yards downfield" in college ball. That's a NFL rule. There can be contact, hand-fighting, etc., in NCAA ball until the ball leaves the passer's hands...

I posted it over at AUFamily. I know better than to try and present sound logic or facts over at ITAT.

Lawdhamercy!! This game 'bout killed me. At first I was hoping for a good old fashioned butt whuppin' with a score of about 63-0, but knowing some barn fans the way I do, I think letting them get their hopes up and then stomping on them like a bug was so much sweeter.

One question about coaches...I thought they had to stay in the white area. (Isn't it called the coaches' box?) Early in the game, Malzhan was out ON the field DURING their plays. Not just a step or two, but pretty close to half way to the numbers, and prior to, during, mane after the snap. Finally the side judge motioned for him to back up, and from that point on, he stayed pretty much in the white area, but he did creep out just into the field of play. I see Scott Cochran grabbing our coaches by their waste bands and pulling them off the field. What Malzhan was doing may not have been a big deal, but it really irritated me.

. . waste bands :D . . . line of the day?

OOPS!!! I blame that one having gotten fewer than 4 hours sleep. WAIST bands. LOL

Cue Roger Daltry:

"Teenage waist bands, oh yeah, only teenage waist bands."

Think I need more chicken soup. Or ibuprofen.

OK, no more bad jokes from me, for at least 10 minutes.
Maybe 5. We'll see.
