Not surprising. Good call. I can take good, old fashioned reasonable debate.
He did not, however, have "reasonable" points. Very antagonistic. Thanks, Earle.

The funny thing is that I told him when I banned him before not to try to come back because that personality would stick out anywhere. It did, and, when I checked a few things, all I could think was "duh." If you think a bit, I bet you can come up with his old username...Not surprising. Good call. You're entitled to your view, but I don't think we were going to be allowed to win this game, no matter what we did...We are up 10 with less than 3 minutes to go. Regardless of the officiating, you have to find a way to win this kind of game. Grant has a history of not being very good at working officiating crews.
It also speaks to the fact we had something to play for and they really don't other than pride. They find a way to win and we find a way to give it away. We certainly have well documented deficiencies, but the coaching is really starting to concern me. Our offense doesn't seem to be very disciplined.
Despite the last missed call at UT, which could have saved the game for us, the calling overall was not anything on earth like today. I started watching Bama basketball when I was a freshman 56 years ago, and I've never seen a game officiated like this one today...We've had two SEC losses this season where I feel like the officiating was at least partially responsible. The missed foul at the end of Tennessee was blatant but Alabama really choked that game away. This game's officiating was felonious. There was no balance in the how the whistle was blown. Alabama was allowed no aggressive latitude while LSU frequently got away with tripping fouls, straight up tackles, and clear blocking fouls. The FT disparity was undoubtedly partially due to LSU being more aggressive with the dribble drive but what was the point of driving into the paint for Alabama unless we wanted to see our guys get hip checked and lose possession.
I had the same thought. They should have been to stand down also...I have a question, and this did not have anything to do with the outcome of the game. But why did LSU was allow to warm up while the net was being repair. I believe the officials should not of allow them the extra warm up time during the half time. Just like football, if one sideline lose their communication then both sides put up the headsets. I am not whining but just an observation.

You very well may be right since I didn't actually see the game. I've seen more than 1 game decided by the officials and have said so in the past. (Vandy last year comes to mind.) My point is that Grant does a poor job of working the ref's, even Gottfried was better than he is in that regard and that is not saying much. More often than not when a team loses when they have a lead with only a few minutes left, it usually comes down to coaching and working the ref's is part of that.
Its not often I miss a game, but I went to a live softball game rather than watch the game on the tube.
Those officials were "worked" before the game, IMO. I didn't think we were going to be allowed to win and I said it in the game thread throughout, including the last three minutes with a ten point lead. The refs just nibbled it away with bogus calls. It should be noted that this is not my usual attitude about officiating at all..You very well may be right since I didn't actually see the game. I've known Travis for around 17 or 18 years. He is a Bama football fan but, when it comes to BB, he is a Duke fan. He used to make no secret about it, but, now that he's making his living off Bama, I guess he doesn't voice it so much...I'm sorry but "working the refs" should not be an issue in this instance. Five - FIVE - foul calls in their favor in the last three minutes and not one in ours. No excuse for that, and it's not on Anthony Grant.
And I am done with any Alabama media who says otherwise, including Alabama supporters (Reier, Dunaway, Lance Taylor).

I really think that it would be impossible to understand what the guys were facing today without having actually seen the game. As I said above, I've been watching Bama basketball for well over 50 years and I've never seen anything like it...We are up 10 with less than 3 minutes to go. Problem is, when should he have done it? It would have almost certainly cost the game whenever he did it and we still had a chance right down to the last couple of minutes of the 3rd OT...I just wish Grant would have said something about the refs to the media and taken the fine or what ever happens.

Here are his tweets during the 3 minute stretch into the first OT...I've known Travis for around 17 or 18 years. He is a Bama football fan but, when it comes to BB, he is a Duke fan. Not sure UA could be more loose with the ball than it is right now.
3 on 1 up two and you don't look to score.
Tennessee memories.
10-0 run not on the refs RT @JonasChapman: yea, but this one is all officials. Bama can't breathe on LSU without them going to the line
Nope. You gotta take it; dont hope they give it go you. RT @Brianl06: But it really is "@travisreier: 10-0 run not on the refs"
Bottom line: 3 on 1 with 1:40 to go and UA ran clock.
Nope [referencing Coop's put back]
Credit UA players for staying with it and not writing off woes to officiating. Showing resolve.
