I admit, i gave up hope after the Yeldon fumble.

Little did i know, it was just setting things up for a great comeback win.

The last 50 seconds plus overtime was very memorable, the team refused to lose, stepped up and took the win away from LSU.

Yes, I was one that thought it was over when Yeldon fumbled, and I commented such in the game thread (but I never badmouthed the players or coaches). Lesson learned; it is never over until it is over. What a great comeback. I am proud of these boys.

I think we all thought it was over at that point. I didn't say it on the thread, but I did to my wife, who was watching with me. As I said in another thread, I'd already started planning the management of the postgame thread after a loss...

Add to that....Notre Dame loses.....only thing that could made it a better day was if TN had played and lost.

Well, you could look at it in a slightly different way... Tennessee didn't win yesterday

Skipster, I was just listening to the lswho radio broadcast and during their postgame commentary one of their guys commented about how it seemed everything was going to go lsu's way, that even the PA announcer had told fans to stay off the field several times, and then Bama crushed their spirit.

If we could have added an Ohio State and Shameless Winston loss, it would have been a college football quinella.

The Alabama win/Alabama Polytech loss/Noter Lame loss trifecta was sweet, though!

Some thoughts after returning from BR:
The field looks like a postage stamp from row EE. I thought I wouldn't need binoculars, and ended up not being able to follow the ball several times.
As mentioned above the Public Address dude cautioned us all not to rush the field. The Bama guy seated near me said "Why would anyone do that?" And The PA guy sounded more like a guy at the 7/11 chatting about the game than a PA guy. Numerous pronunciation and commentary errors. They proudly showed a decibel meter on the stadium screens at times, I guess that encourages them.
Our experience with fans was good, both inside and outside the stadium. Like Texas A&M, they have numerous little quirks, chants, arm waving, hat waving, cup throwing tics that are pretty much indecipherable outside the cult. But, the great majority were having fun and not acting stupid.
And the best part, to once again experience that rare moment when 90,000+ screaming fans go dead quiet. It happened not on LSU's last play, but when DeAndrew White elevated for the TD, when the stake was driven home.

I have to admit the same thing as Earle. When that ball fell out of T J`s arms, I said, "That`s it, time to hit the sack." My wife said, " Just wait. They still have 50 seconds". I honestly thought, " No, that`s usually reserved for the barn". Glad I was wrong and stuck around, though!

I thought it was over also. However, when we lined up for the FG I told my family, he's going to make it and we are going to win this game.

Just now making my way back to the forum. I usually do not visit on game day or the day after to keep myself from saying something stupid. I have never been more glad than now. I will refrain from my usual later reading of the game thread.

Very proud of this win, but WHEW!

I think it was hilarious that the stadium announcer said not to storm the field. He said it twice..after our fumble and after they made their field goal.

Siap. Just got home from the long journey from BR. For those that were not there, it is worth noting that the public address announcer said on numerous occasions after the LSU field goal....."do not rush the field". I repeat... I remember at least three times he said it. Not sure if that had been said. The fans were exuberant and completely spazzing out with joy. It was about that time that an elderly man made it a point to walk over and hurled some expletives with his fist pointed at me and my son and there was a general celebration going on...dancing..pointing at me. Mind you....I never said anything the whole game. In a matter of one minute, all off that went away. I am still surprised that with no time outs we drove the field. But to go from that emotional high to losing in a matter of a few minutes was more than some could bear. I told my son we would celebrate when we got back to the hotel room but it would be wise to just not smile, not make eye contact, etc. Some LSU fans had to be restrained where I was seated after that final fourth down play. I am glad I went but wow....that was as intense as it gets and I have been to a lot of games. Most LSU fans really thought before this game that they would win and were quite confident even though the point spread said otherwise. That and the utter disdain for Nick and bitter hatred made this win feel all the better for me even though I had to delay my celebration.

Some of them are great but there are many that are awful at Tiger Stadium. As a fanbase the number of unhinged fans is most definitely most represented by LSU fans. There is a reason visitor bands, cheerleaders, and dance lines have to be covered with a roof upon leaving the team bus. When you think about it, it's truly pathetic.

Their reaction this year was probably made worse because of the similar ending 2 years ago. I was not bothered by anyone that evening after the game, but the silence was deafening and even Bama fans would only whisper RTR to each other as we passed. To have it happen again has to be crushing.
