they are in denial, most of the threads on wearesc.com mention Alabama, threaten to secede from the NCAA, sue the NCAA , or claim ther sanctions will be overturned on appeal. do the last three sound familiar?

No doubt. Most seem to think they can appeal their way out. Lol, good luck with that.

And for those U$C fans that think BAMA got off light, someone needs to forward them the infamous "staring down the barrel of a gun" speech we Bama fans all remember so well.

Hehe...I never doubted anything was going to happen to them, I thought those people were being absurd. I did think the NCAA would try to go a little bit tougher than USC wanted but not as tough as everyone else thought they should in order to try and get some middle ground. So I'll gladly take egg on my face for that, because the NCAA hammered them pretty good!

I really doubted that USC would get this stiff a penalty. We got hammered too and came back from it. If they hang in there it will get better. They have too much tradition and people that believe in them not to make a comeback. Keep your chin up Trojans.

I think that now is when it gets interesting. It is going to be very hard to attract top drawer recruits to U$C for the next several years with promises of playing for an elite program with a shot at the NC. There will be almost unbearable pressure on Lame and the Ogre to cheat to get the players that they want. And we already know that Lame and the Ogre are not at all adverse to breaking NCAA rules, even under much less trying circumstances. Look for U$C to be getting the second DP ever in within 5 years.

And it could not happen to a nicer bunch of pretty boy surfer rock stars.

No doubt.
5 star players don't want to play for a team under sanctions when they can have their pick of other top tier schools.
Lane is getting his just dues, imo, and will serve as an interim hc of sorts, to get U$C through the dark times.
Somewhere, I imagine Urban is smiling.
