Can we get Bo Davis back

  • HELLO AGAIN, Guest! We are back, live! We're still doing some troubleshooting and maintenance to fix a few remaining issues but everything looks stable now (except front page which we're working on over next day or two)

Thanks for your patience and support! MUCH appreciated! --Brett (BamaNation)

if you see any problems - please post them in the Troubleshooting board!

Dishonesty is not a resume enhancement, but I do like his recruiting and coaching skills. Bo coached some great players to greatness.
Hopefully he has learned his lesson and is scrupulously honest hereafter. Better to fess up, take your lumps, and learn from the whole thing.
IIRC, he contacted a recruit during the dead period and when he was confronted by CNS, lied to him. He would be a fantastic addition to the pros.

He'd be a great pick up if he has indeed learned that lying is not the way.

I think we need to overhaul the OL and DL positions. Potentially coaching changes. S&C. Definitely a hard look at technique.

I cannot accept that our OL can't be improved with the players on hand. DL wise we have a good core group, but we could use the elusive and rare 5* disruptor in the middle and overall bit more size.

Assuming there are no violations that we don't know about, it's been 10 years since the lie about illegal phone contact. I think that's long enough ago to forgive and forget. He's done his time.

Shoot, after a year's exile in JUCO Saban forgave DJ Pettway for acting as a lookout in the brutal and unprovoked beating of multiple innocent students. One of whom sustained permanent injury. FWIW, I was adamantly opposed to that at the time. Plus, Saban isn't here anymore and Davis has a clean slate with DeBoer.

I'd give him a second chance with the provision that another lie will result in instantaneous dismissal for cause -- i.e., $0 severance.

If there are aggravating circumstances about the lie, or other problems that aren't public, I'd need to revisit my position.
