There are no opt outs. Only quitters.I read that there were 23 opt outs for FSU. That smacks of a team full of players afraid to play.
The quitters were simply following their weak coach’s example. Screw em…This game exposed the importance of the culture within a program. FSU had a weak core. They also had just started to “be back” which always takes a few recruiting classes. They had top tier starters and that’s it. By allowing the players this level of arrogance Norvell made a deal with the devil. It’s not sustainable and now they will reap what they’ve sown. FSU will have to start all over.
Yeah it’s proof that 13-0 in the ACC is 8-4 in the SEC"This wasn't the same team.
But AGAIN - if they had WON, guess what?
These are folks saying a 6-4 ACC vs SEC record is proof of....something...
I don't think he had anything of substance to say, I think he just wanted to show off his house.
If revenue sharing were to become a thing along with collective bargaining, then this would change things. The players would be employees of the school and opting out would be a violation of your employee contract. I don't know that it's necessarily the best answer, but it would fix that problem. What?!?! You mean if you don't have your best players, your team isn't as good? I'm shocked! Shocked, I tell you!
It's coming. Maybe not next year. But after the world sees some 9 - 12th-seeded teams get their teeth kicked in it'll happen. When those teams no longer think they have a realistic chance at the championship, personal interest will trump team. Bank on it.
And yes, college football is broken. We're largely insulated from that because of Saban. But a sad day will come when he's no longer in the chair and we'll see just how broken it is.
I've been advocating for a collective bargaining agreement for a while now. And I have to believe that some form of revenue sharing would be part of the initial contract. If revenue sharing were to become a thing along with collective bargaining, then this would change things. The players would be employees of the school and opting out would be a violation of your employee contract. I don't know that it's necessarily the best answer, but it would fix that problem.
It's been a weird year for college football, and it seems pretty clear that a lot needs to change and I think it will happen pretty swiftly over the next six months. Maybe not everything that needs to happen, but I think there will be tremendous changes in the immediate future.
Doesn’t fit the narrative
Doesn’t fit the narrative
That is why they had so many guys quit. They knew they had no chance. The hilarious part is that even IF fsu hadn't had so many self-oriented quitters, they still would have been beaten soundly, if not boat-raced, by UGA.
Yep. If your guys stay and get curb stomped, you lose the narrative that you belonged. That is why they had so many guys quit. They knew they had no chance.
