I have not forgot a play from this season; the wins were good; and 2 of the losses were historically bad. And; all on the road.

Two of those teams had an extra week to prepare did they not? Alabama typically doesn't do poorly when they have extra time to prepare, which they would have in this scenario (Texas would be less rested actually). Also, while those two losses were bad, I still think people are struggling with this whole SoS thing and don't realize Oklahoma is a contender in most conferences. Likewise guess who Vanderbilt almost beat? Texas...

I mean sure Texas might have beaten Alabama, but obviously Alabama had a better shot at beating them than Clemson and most assuredly a better shot at knocking off Notre Dame and Penn State than the teams that did play them.

and may I add, we should have beat Tennessee, and there's no way we should have lost to Vandy.
Well, the only reason Alabama did lose to Vanderbilt was because they sent out the wrong player on special teams and got a penalty.

Who is dumber…. Trump and the USFL going toe to toe with the NFL, Vince McMahon and XFL going against the NFL, or college football going toe to toe with the NFL?

I mean seriously… they knew they were going to get shelled today but they still chose SMU over Bama, USCe, and Ole Miss against the NFL mega Saturday of the year
The (first) XFL didn't go head-to-head with the NFL and was an attempt to build a football league closer to his wrestling product, a gamble that failed if you will. Had it worked, well, it wouldn't have replaced the NFL, but it might have lasted a few years.

CFB should just have chosen some nights during the week or a time when they'd show a bowl game for their playoff games. It's like this was done with zero foresight, but this can be remedied.

Donald Trump's driving over the cliff with the USFL contra the league's original founding purpose was the kind of thing a screenplay writer would do but is by far the worst. Had the USFL simply stayed as a spring football league (which was the original intent) with controlled costs, a regional only draft, and been either a reserve league for NFL clubs (holding players for them to prevent free agency) or a place where washed up veterans could go make less but still play a few years, it could have stayed around awhile.

Think about this: when Trump decided to drive over the cliff, he put the Birmingham Stallions' owner (Marvin Warner) in the unenviable position of:
- we can't play Saturday in the fall or we'll get clobbered by Alabama, Auburn, and Tennessee
- we can't play Sunday, not only because the NFL will clobber us, but at the time it was illegal to sell alcohol in most Southern states on Sunday

Other owners had the unenviable task of being the alternative to NFL teams and no access to NFL stadiums, but none of that mattered to Trump.

That's why his was worst.

Yes, that and the minor issue of giving up FORTY points to VANDY
Good grief; it was the ref's :)

He didn’t say it was the refs. Bama DID commit the penalty after all. But I agree with you. We lost the game because our defense couldn’t stop the run, and Milroe cannot manufacture a drive longer than 2 minutes.

Some of the teams winning these first round games by 14+ are going to lose by that much in later rounds. Texas and Penn State gets easy quarter final games but in the semis I wouldn't be surprised to see one or both lose big. Especially Penn State

I saw that earlier. Did any bands get to play? I don't remember hearing a band during that game. That's just plain shameful. They should have made the committee sit up there with them.
I don't know. I canceled my YTTV and it ran out on Thursday. I haven't seen any games. The CFB playoff should be ashamed to treat a band that way. I'd even be mad if it were UGA's band, and I can't stand them. Those kids have fall camp, too, and work very hard to put on a show throughout the season. They were looking forward to this trip, too, but I bet they didn't receive any perks for their efforts. Certainly not any NIL for them.
