It's unreal. These Clemson fans actually believe they gave LSU their best game all year. They got beat by 17 and the game was basically over by the end of the 3rd quarter. The entire 4th quarter was just a formality. No doubt in my mind Alabama and Auburn gave LSU their toughest games all year.
Even Texas played them closer.

It was honestly Herbie's worst three hours, it felt like I was listening to Chris Fowler and a Clemson fan. He mentioned Venables all night long, I don't even think he mentioned Dave Aranda.
Here mentioned Aranda once. I actually heard him. And I only watched the game in spurts due to being at work.

Even Texas played them closer.
Alabama, Auburn, Texas, and Florida all played them closer. In reality, whether Dabo wants to hear it or not, if Clemson played the right SEC schedule, they probably finish 10-2. Sprinkle in some injuries because of the more difficult games, and well, 9-3 or 8-4 isn't out of the realm of possibilities.

Wondering how much AFLAC paid Coach Saban to wear that blue blazer tonight.... Something tells me it was a pretty penny! 🤔
I was wondering WHY he was wearing that shade of BLUE. I thought, maybe he is going to Kentucky. I was really concerned that he wasn't wearing a Crimson sport's coat. Well, it's good to know he can afford another Mercedes after wearing that AFLAC shade of BLUE.

But one thing is for sure after watching last nights broadcast and just reading some articles this morning. Alabama has been completely eliminated from the conversation, and sadly one of those comments came from one of our own, Rece Davis. I love Rece to death and he does a FANTASTIC job. But he made a comment on the Scott Van Pelt post game show that basically said Clemson is still the gold standard of football and LSU will be the new representative in the SEC West going forward. I hope Nick Saban and team noticed this as well.
Clemson was never in the game last night. There wasn't a moment that I thought they may win the game. The beating LSU put on them could have been worse too. LSU left some points on the field toward the end of the game, the dropped TD pass for instance, LSU could have easily scored 60+ points last night. Bama, Auburn, and Texas all gave LSU better games than Clemson did last night.

Wish he would have ran one more in.
Didn't Coach Oeaux learn anything from Coach Saban in the Michigan vs Alabama game? I wanted another score.

However, in watching Coach Dabo's after-game press conference, he did show CLASS in his remarks about LSWho's win.

Honestly, with Herbie having immediate family playing in the game they should have pulled him from the booth. It is impossible to be truly objective when you have children participating in the game. The quality of commentating took a severe hit last night with Fowler and Herbie.
My wife's observation last night. She's a casual football fan and she noticed Herbie' bias and asked me about it. When I told her, she commented that he shouldn't be in the booth...

I disagree. When they were able to put effect Burrow with pressure they were. Dabo made a great decision to punt on their first drive and pin them deep and it flipped the field for most of the 1st quarter.

Then in the 3rd quarter Clemson got a stop and got the ball and score and got it to 3 points again.

I seriously think they made a huge mistake of not running Ettienne more, especially when it was obvious TL was struggling. But when they decided to try to play LSU's game that's when the game "officially" got away from them.

Clemson played well early on, but by halftime LSU was up by 11 and their offense was hitting its groove. By that point, the game was effectively over. Clemson was selling out on defense to stop LSU's offense, and that couldn't last.

TBF, I'm surprised I was the only one who noticed a similarity in his defenses and Venables. And the same thing happened to Clemson which happened to JLD's on a regular basis...
Counterpoint: How many board members are old enough to remember that much about a Joe Lee Dunn defense?

I know I am, but I always figure I'm in the minority on most things.

To be honest, I can't remember. I just remember watching the "Jefferson Pilot Sports" 11:00 am game with the "Two Daves" hearing them say "Joe Lee Dunn's defense" and trying to build him up as best they could. LOL!
