Chapman falls for "Ears" . Says he will be a tigger .

Is it a "done deal" ? :conf3:

Just saw that. Looks like he fell for 'ol Ear's lies.
I can't say that I really blame him in taking a full ride this year instead of waiting for it next year though. He still would have had a better chance with our depth chart though.

I hope we didn't make a mistake in not offering him a scholarship. Especially, since I'm not convinced Bastrop will end up at Bama. I guess it's a long way until signing day.

Bastrop???:conf2: Who's Bastrop? Do you mean LaMarcus Williams, who is from Bastrop LA?

Maybe it's like when you're out at night in a bar . Sometimes you take what you can get while you can get it . Then , if some thing better comes along ....... :conf2:

RTR !!!!!!!!!!!!!! ...... anyway !!!!!!

I hope one of those big time players commits

John Brown for example to the Tide but it may be hard getting him to leave Florida. Bottom line, the Tide desperately needs to upgrade the DT position. I just hope and pray there is a plan.

Not so fast, my friend. It wasn't hard for Murdock (Tampa), McKenzie (Bradenton), Marve (Tampa), or his teammate Taylor (Lakeland). I think we get Brown as well.:BigA:

Isn't greyshirting, basically waiting one semester before your on scholarship?

Yeah, it's not that of a big deal, but, Tubs and the Barners sold Chapman and his mom on how the grayshirt was a "slap in the face". The real irony is that, with the Barn having 6 defensive tackle recruits come in last year, Chapman would have seen the field faster at UA with a grayshirt than with a full scholly at the Barn.

Oh well, to each his own.

How do you know their approach was to characterize a grayshirt offer as a "slap in the face?" How do you know they didn't just accept the more financially generous offer, regardless of prospective playing time?

Chapman said, "I've worked too hard to accept a greyshirt." Read that how you will....

Re: Sanders

I just don't know if he'll get an offer or not. He could've used a better camp performance. This may bring a harder push on Gentry and to get him to bulk up this year.

I read where Williams said he was commiting to the Tide and how great he felt about his visit to the Capstone, but in the same breath went on to say he was going to continue to visit other programs and was not closing any doors. :conf2: Don't know what to read into that:conf2:

That just doesn't make any sense. He'll not get a scholly for a whole year at AU if I understand it, and he'd only be without for one semester at Bama. I guess he just really wanted to go to Auburn. Oh well.

Josh Chapman will be a full ride starting on scholarship in 2007 with Auburn. If he would have accepted the Bama greyshirt he would have started in 2008.

Too bad Chapman didn't realize that the Auburn coaching staff is best at building empty promises. I wonder how in the world they can talk around their depth chart. Um....yes, Chap we do have 58 other DT's on our team, but we think you are special (hugs). Unfortunately he, like many others, fell for the Tubby shuffle.
