I think in the Big12 they define defense as "the guys that go out and let the other team score so our offense can get out there again"...
ahhh ok, i get it now. makes sense.

Well Coach Ford wasnt run off for lack of winning....His stats speak for themselves...as far as doing better than Dabo...just remember Coach Ford was the o-line coach when Pell left for Florida and was subsequently offered the head coaching job going into the 78 gator bowl against ohio state..he had no prior head coaching experience or coordinator experience...he did know how to motivate and organize a program...whoever clemson gets, it needs to be a guy who can bring toughness back to the program...the talent is their right now...in my humble opinion
I think there will be rumors floated out about how "CNS is interested in the Clemson job, and has had his agent contact the Clemson AD", but that's just what they'll be, RUMORS.
Here are five possible replacements for Tommy Bowden at Clemson: 1. Jim Grobe Wake Forest coach If you cannot beat them, have them join you. Few coaches in the country can claim they do more with less. 2. Bobby Johnson Vanderbilt coach He's a Clemson alum (1973) who has rebuilt the Commodores from the ashes. Would not be the splashy hire, but his academic track record fits president James Barker's mold. 3. Will Muschamp Texas defensive coordinator An intense, vocal figure -- in other words, the anti-Bowden -- who has generated top-notch, physical defenses at Auburn and now Texas. Figures to be the most sought-after assistant in the college ranks this offseason. 4. Gary Patterson Texas Christian coach Clemson AD Terry Don Phillips likes his southwestern guys, and Patterson has built a reputation as a consistent winner with a physical, hard-nosed style 5. Dabo Swinney Clemson interim coach Has more potential staying power than your average interim guy. Gained a ton of respect from administration as the football team liaison during last year's rift with an academic review board.
Wallace Wade?
I think less and less of that Gruden rumor that comes up every year. Coach Cut? I could see that.
Their first choice will be Bobby Johson he is doing well at Vandy and he's a Clemson Alum.
I'm not the best at reading sarcasm on this board as of yet, but I sure hope you're just kidding. If anything, CMA is the heir apparent to the Throne of Burnt Orange when Mack Brown steps down.
Wade left because of goals that he had as an administrator. I don't see the comparison.
What is the love fest with Muschamp as a HC? Clemson fans want him, UT fans want him and a I've seen his name on the barn boards as well. He just seems waaay to emotional to be a head coach, IMO. He is a good DC though and that seems more his niche.
