Coaching carousel 2023-24

The common narrative from the NFL side of things is Jim (not John) Harbaugh "wears on you" and you finally wake up one day and you're done with him. With college kids, they aren't there long enough for that to happen but in the NFL they are. I think in the short term he will turn around the Chargers and it will be a very good hire. But his being there beyond five to six years remains to be seen. The guy has a lot of quirks and after hearing him do a few interviews this past season, I do wonder if he is on the spectrum. *I don't say that lightly or flippantly*
him being on the spectrum actually makes some sense. I personally know 4 people that are at varying degrees.

Lane/Ole Miss just hired Joe Cox (our TE coach) since Cox was not retained by the new staff. I bet Lane tries to get Caleb Odom to enter the transfer portal in April or next year. I think Odom stays at Bama though as long as he gets playing time this season. Even as a freshman, I think he will get snaps. His mom seems to like the set up at Bama too.

All they need is a Sandusky to really round out the staff. Maybe bring in Terrell Suggs?
And maybe pull Bobby Petrino away from Arkansas as OC/Offensive Analyst. He and Hugh can “strategize” at many of the gentlemen’s clubs right up road in Atlanta. Then hire Urban Meyer as recruiting coordinator and director of character development…..

Maybe the Barn faithful can start saving some of that toilet paper to wipe slime off themselves after football and basketball games.

I hope he stays a year or two at Bama. Seahawks hired a young Head coach with no head coaching experience in the NFL. Seems weird that they'd want to hire someone with no OC experience in the NFL along with this. Maybe they will hire someone else and let us keep Grubb for a year or two.
Yeah, this would really irk me as a fan if true. And right before we wrap up signing day too. There is zero loyalty with assistants, coaches, and players. Sad.

The Washington Huskies now have a Belichick(Bill's son) at DC, (Pete Carroll's son) Carroll at OC and a Saban player (Vinnie Sunseri) as a secondary coach.

Honestly, no idea how Jedd Fisch will do there but that's at the very least a staff with a lot of exposure to success. Will be interesting to see how that plays out
