I read somewhere, but not quite sure if it is true or not, the Raiders are still paying a couple of former HC and GM. Not to mention Raiders owner cried poor when he had to trade Khalil Mack. Then you have that division with those QB/HC combos, and there is no way Johnson makes to a second contract with the Raiders.

I always felt Jacksonville should be the choice for Johnson. 1. Trevor Lawrence, expensive but talented QB. 2. Winnable division. 3. It's Florida.
i blame Gruden for that. Mack was the kind of player you could build a defense around. him on one side Crosby on the other add a defensive tackle and you have the steel curtain 2.0. Gruden tried to prove he was smarter than everybody and it cost him big time. a lot of fans talk about it but i never did blame Rolando and Amari and you can add Josh to the list for wanting out of there. they totally did Josh WRONG. and then the picks that Gruden made when he traded Mack and Coop? three first round picks in one year and within 4 years all of them are gone. sheesh....

p.s. I live in SW Georgia. got stopped on hwy 27 last year doing 82 in a 55. the state trooper saw my Raiders hat in the seat, he was born in Oakland so we had a brief conversation and he let me go with a warning. Raider Nation baby.

Gruden sucked all around. Thank god those emails were found to get him out of town. I just hope he's not hired back.

Brady is not "running the show". He owns 10%.
That’s a pretty significant amount and Brady and Seymour were brought into to make “football decisions”. I think Davis is far more hands off than his dad. He seems far more of a guy born into a legacy than one that wants to create his own. He isn’t a Dan Rooney is what I’m getting at.

I think deep down he doesn’t want to manage a roster or a staff and just wants to be the guy that got the Raiders into Vegas.

I mean to give you an idea:

Kraft owns 100% of the Patriots
The Rooney’s own 80% of the Steelers

If the Packers didn’t get to be owned in the manner that they did then Davis might be the owner with the least amount of ownership control at 47%. Yes he is the majority owner by a large margin but he has sold a substantial amount of power to Brady and Seymour and has effectively given up a clear majority of ownership powers to do it.

Mark’s mom owns a good chunk of the team as well so he will have over 50% when she dies.

Probably a decent fit. Not sure many other teams would hire Carroll and not sure many other coaches would take that job.

That division now has Jim Harbaugh, Carroll, Sean Payton, and Andy Reid as coaches. Pretty wild group.
Carroll, IMO, was the best hire the Raiders organization could have made and that's including Ben Johnson. Although a hot shot OC, Johnson has ZERO experience running an NFL team. The Raiders need someone successful, who knows how to culture build and bring stability to an organization. Carroll checks all those boxes.
