At what point do reporters stop showing up to press conferences. They're meaningless.
It's not like reporters have a whole lot to do -- other than scan the internet for possible stories. They will show up as long as there are press conferences...

BTW, I like his answer...exactly what CB4 said above. I am sure there is a timeline...he's just not telling us!

I’m just thinking Grubb wants to play out all NFL options before considering a move to Tuscaloosa. So I’m not so sure how long he would be around if he was added in some capacity to the staff. A season or two maybe?

In regard to CKD: will someone in SID and Communications please do some work with him? And if CKD is going to allow his assistants to get in front of the media, they ALL need workshopping. At times CKD during the season and, particularly after losses, came across as bright as a black hole and twice as dense. The coach speak stuff just isn’t going to fly. This fanbase isn’t stupid. And Sheridan and Shepherd have come across as flat out arrogant and condescending. From a messaging standpoint, the entire group is a mess. And that falls squarely on Greg Byrne.

IMO Grubb’s process is “please someone in the NFL give me another shot”.
If he's considering Alabama as a last resort then I don't want him because he won't be happy and he'll be gone after one season. I don't want people in Tuscaloosa who don't want to be there. It's bad business.

Fair enough, but I think it is wise to favor the NFL over CFB right now. The endless open free agency with no rules or accountability on top of the traditional year-round courtship of teenagers that already made recruiting too hard for most coaches? Thx, but no thx

I don't blame him for preferring to be in the NFL over CFB right now. I'm just saying if the guy and his wife don't want to be here, we have no business hiring him, even for one year.
