74, as an age, is a number that means different things to different people. Carroll is a very "young" 74.

He's about the youngest 74 year old I've ever seen.

If the Raiders can get a QB (even in FA) they're in business. They have two returning 1,000 yard receivers, a solid OL and decent talent on defense. They're not winning a SuperBowl next season but getting a decent QB and Carroll putting in some stability could take them from 4-13 to 8-9 wins in year one.

Problem is FA QBs are either old, ineffective or expensive, and the QB in the draft, as a whole, are a mediocre lot. So I don't know what their plan for QB will be. I'm guessing Carroll is going to convince Wilson to come to the Raiders.

I sometimes wonder if Saban had taken chances on his players turned coaches how things would’ve turned out.

It’s not like Vinnie would have needed much help with how Saban taught defense.

My opinion? Keep the DL. DCs are a dime a dozen, what he teaches those guys has them doing great at the line of scrimmage.

Larry is the best Defensive Line coach in the game. He is the obvious choice

Good luck recreating this year's incredibly experienced (and incredibly talented) OSU defense at State Penn.

Pretty obvious he's an elite DC but I it's funny how 'hot' these guys get when their players are all super-talented upper-classmen...

Johnson has been elite for a while though, sent a lot of guys to the league.
