He's about the youngest 74 year old I've ever seen.74, as an age, is a number that means different things to different people. Carroll is a very "young" 74.

Harbaugh, Carroll and Payton together again.
If the Raiders can get a QB (even in FA) they're in business. They have two returning 1,000 yard receivers, a solid OL and decent talent on defense. They're not winning a SuperBowl next season but getting a decent QB and Carroll putting in some stability could take them from 4-13 to 8-9 wins in year one.
The Cowboys hired Brian Schottenheimer. Pretty much the typical meh hire we all expected.

So Jerry decided one last Super Bowl before he dies just isn’t that important to him.
I sometimes wonder if Saban had taken chances on his players turned coaches how things would’ve turned out.Vinnie Sunseri hired as defensive coach at Florida

Penn State poaching Ohio State’s DC.
He and Larry Johnson really did not get along. OSU offered him a raise to $3MM, but he wanted out. Good luck to him. Penn State's problem was not their defense.![]()

Question for you @B1GTide. Would you rather have kept Larry Johnson or Knowles? I know Larry Johnson has been a staple coaching DL for a while now.He and Larry Johnson really did not get along. My opinion? Keep the DL. DCs are a dime a dozen, what he teaches those guys has them doing great at the line of scrimmage.Question for you @B1GTide. Would you rather have kept Larry Johnson or Knowles? I know Larry Johnson has been a staple coaching DL for a while now.
Larry is the best Defensive Line coach in the game. He is the obvious choiceQuestion for you @B1GTide. Would you rather have kept Larry Johnson or Knowles? I know Larry Johnson has been a staple coaching DL for a while now.
I wish we could get Vinnie back at Alabama.I sometimes wonder if Saban had taken chances on his players turned coaches how things would’ve turned out.
It’s not like Vinnie would have needed much help with how Saban taught defense.
Good luck recreating this year's incredibly experienced (and incredibly talented) OSU defense at State Penn.He and Larry Johnson really did not get along. OSU offered him a raise to $3MM, but he wanted out. Good luck to him. Penn State's problem was not their defense.
Johnson has been elite for a while though, sent a lot of guys to the league.Good luck recreating this year's incredibly experienced (and incredibly talented) OSU defense at State Penn.
Pretty obvious he's an elite DC but I it's funny how 'hot' these guys get when their players are all super-talented upper-classmen...
…and most importantly, the kids go there to play for HIM.Johnson has been elite for a while though, sent a lot of guys to the league.
