I think the Gusbus was already gassed up and ready to leave UCF. Now he goes to Florida State as the OC, and official play caller. So he still gets to coach without being on the hot seat. But unless FSU gets better quick, Gus may be out the door with Norvell - or he will be named interim HC when Norvell leaves.

Probably saved UCF the trouble of firing him....

Chip Kelly is paid 40% as OC at OSU vs his salary as HC at UCLA.

For some it's not about the money - Gus has made many millions - but rather about what they want to do. I suspect many coaches prefer actually coaching rather than being a CEO, which is more in line with what a modern HC is.

Mack Brown is a good coach (not great) who caught lightning in a bottle with Vince Young.

I really have no strong feelings about him one way or the other.

I hope he has a long and enjoyable retirement.
