The “announcement” after the egg bowl is just super bizarre. Like why? This doesn’t make ole miss look good either way so why do it? Makes you wonder if anyone can look past what’s right in front of them and consider oh I don’t know like 1.5 months into the future.

I sure think if he was staying he'd just announce it now so the players are not distracted. Not a good thing to go into a rivalry game with players who are uncertain about the future.

We have no idea if Bama contacted Kiffin or not

We? I have an idea Bama didn’t. Byrne didn’t mention Kiffin when he did an interview on the coaching search . I heard an interview with Ryan McGee that while doing research for the 30 for 30 , The many lives of Lane Kiffin, that Kiffin expressed hurt that Bama didn’t at least contact him when Saban retired. The majority of This board and the overall fanbase seemed to reject Kiffin as a candidate due to his maturity level at the time, and now 2 years later he is the overwhelming choice of the fanbase. Just seems odd.
