Congrats LSU

Even though I'm not looking forward to the next several months , congratulations & thanks for properly representing the conference in the big one .

Thanks, guys. Florida last year and LSU this year have paved the way for another SEC team to never have to suffer the indignity that Auburn suffered in 2004.

This was a big win for the SEC. Plus, Georgia finished #2. From here on out, if you win the SEC, you just about have a spot locked up in the National Championship game as long as your record is comparable to the top teams.

My best friend is an LSU fan.

We've been texting all night and he is on Burboun Street.
His first text was an hour before the game, and he was already lit.
My last text was asking if he was still vertical..... I haven't heard a response yet. :-)

Way to go Tigers. I was impressed with the way they responded when getting down early and bouncing back. If I wasn't an Alabama fan I would wish that Hester and Flynn were returning next year.

Congratulations! Y'all backed into the game by the grace of God, but definitely proved you deserved to be there. Way to represent the toughest conference in the nation. :BigA:

I think the 2004 team would have gotten killed by USC so it may have been a blessing that they didnt face USC (I base this on the 2 previous killings USC handed the barn, and a 1-AA opponent on their schedule)

Congrats to LSU for a great game and yet another SEC NC.

To the players of LSU count yourself lucky you didn't have to listen to that idiot OSU-biased play by play guy on Fox. It was annoying at first and then became laughable as LSU lay yet another hit on their QB or scored another TD and he rationalized why OSU wasn't winning. Of course, he also said OSU will be better next year. So who are they going to lose to next year?

Maybe GA will win it next year and dare I say Bame in 2010.

21: You are an excellent poster but I think you are caught in the moment. I've been around a long time and learned to never underestimate the frenzy and bias that can surround a decent Notre Dame team. There has been a bias in favor of Big Ten Football and a bias against Southeastern Football since about 1930. An example is the selection of Charles Woodson as Heisman over Peyton Manning, an obvious travesty. It still remains and the Southeast can do little about it except to continue winning. But for the young folks there is hope. People are moving South and West and that is diminishing the grip that Northern press had on the situation. It may not appear to be so but to paraphase Navid Nousel "We are winning the war one recruit, one battle, one victory at a time."
And a big Congratulations to LSU!

SEC rules. :cool2:

At the end of the game one of the bozo anouncers proclaimed that OSU was actually a year ahead of schedule in reaching the title game, that 2008 was supposed to be the year they made their run. Wasn't that their excuse last year?

Congratulations and Kudos to the the Yellow and Purple. Way to represent the SEC. Wonder if Shaq was partying hard until morn?

That SEC chant was awesome as well, of course it fell on deaf ears at ESPN.

2001 - Florida #3

2002 - Georgia #3

2003 - LSU #1 (NC)

2004 - Auburn #2

2005 - LSU #5

2006 - Florida #1 (NC)

2007 - LSU #1 (NC)

there's no pattern there or anything.

Great win for LSU and Miles, great for the Tiger fans in Purple and Gold. Jury is still out on the Wahoo though! :biggrin2:

Congrats to LSU players? Absolutely. Convincing showing for the dominance of the SEC? Definitely. Congrats to Elmer Fudd? Never in this lifetime.

I think most fans are just glad the SEC won not glad that LSU specifically won. I know I wasn't pulling for LSU but the SEC. I went into the game pulling for Ohio St. but after listening to the talking heads basically have another lovefest for USC and Ohio St. my SEC pride took over and I was pulling for an SEC victory. Not an LSU win.

I think the dislike between these two programs still exist. LSU people thought they got dissed by Saban in some of his actions after he was hired at Bama and I believe they feel a bit of "Karma" has taken place since they beat Bama in Bama, Bama got beat by ULM and they went on to win a NC under Miles. The only thing left is to beat us next season in BR and I think they will feel they have their full vindication.

HOWEVER, Bama's vindication has yet to come. Miles acted no better than Saban and "Karma" will visit LSU/Miles as well. Everyone gets what they deserve.

But I'm glad the SEC won another NC and the LSU team earned it and deserved it.
