Just wanted to come up here and say great game and Congratulations to the Tide. I've always kinda been an admirer of the Tide from afar. You know how there are the teams around the country you absolutely hate (sometimes for reasons you can't really put a finger on as they're not even a direct rival), and those you kinda like. For whatever reason Bama has always been one of those I've always liked, probably because of the tradition, the classic uniforms, etc. So while the loss still stings, I guess I don't feel the ire that I might had we lost to someone else. Heh

My take on the whole McCoy thing is this: Yes I think all of us would have liked to see him in the game, and yes I will always wonder how the game would have played out had he been in. We can all speculate but no one knows for sure.

What we do know though is that it's a team game, and Bama won with ball-control offense and a hard-hitting defense. This is Bama football, it's what you guys have done all year. If the rolls had changed and Ingram had gone down in the first quarter, I believe Bama would've plugged in another back (I expect you probably had 2-3 more on the bench) and kept grinding.

With 2 future NFL receivers I did expect to see more balance on offense from Bama, but I guess because of how the game was going you never really had to pass.

Anyway, I'm envious of you because I remember how great it felt after we beat USC four years ago. It's just an amazing feeling that will last all through the Spring and for a long, long time after. Enjoy it!

And it looks like you guys have a great shot for a repeat. Hopefully we'll get another shot at you someday.

Again, Congrats and God Bless from Houston.

Thank you, sir/ma'm. The University loves to play worthy opponents of the caliber of Texas, in any venue. This one was truly a battle of the titans in college football. It was fought hard and clean, just as most expected. Both teams conducted themselves like they had been there before. Bama fans by and large have always had a healthy respect for Texas, making winning this game as sweet as it could get for us. i.e., to finally win one against the 'Horns. You folks have a great, great team, and it wouldn't surprise me a bit if we met again real soon, at the big dance. Cheers.

Thanks for the congratulations. I'm not sure why it hasn't had more circulation, but Greg was playing a pretty severe injury - two fractured ribs from the UF game. He had a muscle spasm 2.5 weeks before the CG and refractured them. He had to have the area deadened to play at all, and he said by halftime they were killing him. One of his friends said that coughing would bring him to his knees in agony. Try throwing a pretty spiral with that injury...

We appreciate the kind words from Houston. This is a fine place for anyone who wants to talk football and trade a few laughs.

You know where to find us.

Yeah I hadn't heard a thing about this pre-game (and I read a lot of pre-game materials). So no doubt that had a lot to do with only the 58 yards passing. But again I think a lot of it was simply smart football by Bama. Ground game gutted us in the 2Q, and so with an 18 point lead you dance with what brung ya and try to cruise to the title.

Thanks H-Town! Texas is big-time tough and will likely be in the mix for NCs in the near future.

Hey, now we're 1-7-1 against y'all! It'll probably be a few centuries before we're able to even the series. Unless y'all join the SEC...

To be honest, I think that McCoy was injured before the game ever started, but they kept it hush hush so that Bama wouldn't prepare for a different QB. I guess we'll never know for sure though unless McCoy says something.

Thanks for the Congrats though. Very classy post.
