Contract extension...

TIDE-HSV: Might we then infer the following...

- UT sent feelers / distanced agents to Jimmy Sexton to discuss CNS coming to UTw.
- Jimmy Sexton engaged in talks and worked up a "deal".
- That "deal" was taken to UA administration, and UA countered with what we are about to see this week (maybe).
- That UTw "deal" is also why UT admin were "100% positive" that CNS was coming to UTw.

- Sexton hands contract to Gus.
- Gus arrives in Austin Sunday.

Texas boards have conceded Saban. Most say Gus, Jimbo, or Mora, Jr. are the people in play.

Whenever this saga is over......can we PLEASE have ONE THREAD for al of us to get on here and just let loose with the anxiety we've all endured for going on three years now?

(This IS a sincere request).

I know it's fun for us to throw Gus' name around since he's an Aub. However, I started thinking back to Bama's coaching search. Who was the first name mentioned? Steve Spurrier. Who was, and is, his agent? Jimmy Sexton. Same scenario playing out right now it seems.

That's a lot of speculation, but I couldn't say, anyway...

Saban is worth every penny he gets and more. Glad to see the extension, and it would be hilarious to see the Barners go into melt down if Gus went to Austin, but another part of me wants Saban to kick that butt in the Iron Bowl next year.

Nah, let Gus go to UTw and then Saban can take him to school in the BCS, er, I mean, playoff championship game.

Sadly, I ventured to ShaggyBevo last night to see what they were saying about Mack Brown. Most of the threads are about Saban and Malzahn. Most of level-headed Horns were attacked for not believing the rumors. I can't recall a fanbase wanting to lose a game, to ensure the ousting of a coach, because they are convinced the new coach is somehow already "in place". Nevermind the sitting coach can win a conference title with a win.

I'm no Mack Brown fan, but it would be pretty funny to see Texas beat Baylor and then watch Texas try to fire the reigning conference champion coach.

Hopefully this will calm everyone down and shut up the "CNS to __________" rumors for good!!!

So, did you hear the new one? "Gus to UT?"
