OMG!!!! Say It Isn't So........................

I am shocked and terribly disappointed in Coach Croom's comments concerning Bama's players!

I too have been a fan of Coach Croom and thought he was an excellent candidate for the HC at Bama.........woe is me!

I should/would think a HC would be happy a young man was doing well, even though he decided NOT to play for MSU, but chose the competition.

Sour grapes will not save his job at MSU and he should not be blaming others for his mistakes or his player's mistakes either.

I think Bama fans should take the high road on this and just be civil toward Coach Croom; but also not give him any other credit other than being a disciple of Coach Bryant and a Bama alum!

It's truly a sad day when one of our own turns on us!!! :mad2:

Croom is just a buffon, pure and simple and a bitter one at that. He and MSU deserve each other in my opinion. He needs to take care of his own cheap shot artists before he starts talking about Bama playing with class.

Croom, go back to the NFL or wherever you came from. And what is up with his face? Geez if the man were to smile, it would kill him.

Here is to wishing he never wins another game at MSU.

Well, I guess I'm the minority

I don't see why everyone is over-reacting. I didn't necessarily like the comments, but I'll give him a mulligan. He's one of our own, and bled for us. That should be worth something.

Has he slipped a little in my opinion, but if you put yourself in his position. He's in a bad program, he hasn't been able to recruit well, his team isn't doing well, and it's probably tougher than he thought. He probably overstepped his bounds a little.

Get used to the JJ comment, as he'll use it in recruiting for years to come, as will everybody else. Recruiting is an ugly business.

Those who say we should take his name off the trophy just fire me up, because, everybody makes mistakes, and you shouldn't crucify somebody for saying something stupid every once in a while.

What's worse is that I have to agree with alot of the things "Tennessee" was posting... Agreeing with a UThug fan is not something I like to do..

But Jim from Tuscaloosa knows football...

and he thinks you're all wrong. g
Really, though, aren't we starting to see that our AD is a little smarter than he's been given credit for (post Dennis)? Price at UTEP, Shula, Croom at MSU.

How many mulligans does one usually get? I think most tournaments the most you can buy is two. Look back at all of Croom's negative recruiting comments, turning us in for tic-tac recruiting violations (width of margins in recruiting hand-outs) and these criticisms. I think he's used his mulligans and then some. How many "stupid mistakes" does it take for people to realize they aren't "mistakes."

He has already had his two mulligans from me. The Jesse Jackson protest and racism allegations that he went along with, and the NCAA recruiting violations which I believe was 12 different nit picky violations that he turned Bama in for. One of which was a Bama recruiting brochure that the margin was a smiggen too large. He is no friend of Alabama's and he is certainly no friend of mine. I could list some of the other stuff but I was scoring that and even with his handicap Bama beats him silly while caring the heavy NCAA bags.

Saturday was my first opportunity to see Johns at tailback in a while. the improvement he has made is dramatic. Earlier in the year I surmised that he would never be much more than a situation back, I'm not so sure now, he looked like a serious north south wrecking ball of a tailback in the making. and knowing he can throw at any time, well that would scare me if I had to scheme against Alabama.

Quote From A Former Player On Croom Quote

Heard this on a radio program in Mobile last night"I wish he hadn't said it and an old coach of mine use to say "When you win say little and when you lose say nothing." that simple statement said volumes to me. Now, let's concentrate on how we can support the Tide this Saturday. The former player was QB, Scott Hunter. RTR

I think he probably regrets what he said.

And whom might this former player be????

I knew I goofed when I post it

(I) am not the former player and regret any misunderstanding that post may have caused. I was listening to Scott Hunter on the radio last evening and this his his quote not mine...sorry sorry sorry if I mis led

Croom spoke in Mobile last night and (from what I hear) he was a lot more careful with his words. I wasn't there, but I know a few people that were. Was anyone there last night that could fill us in?

Just fix it

Just edit your earlier post and add that.

The one reason I am not mad that Croom and everyone else is bashing Alabama, it means they are all afraid that we are going to be the team they all grew up knowing, the dominant Alabama team that we [the Alabama Faithful] all know. Everyone is bashing while they can, kicking us while we are down b/c they all know we are on our way back up. We are getting trash thrown at us from the media, coaches and every non-Bama fan in the nation b/c we are in the spotlight when we shouldn't be.

I still respect Coach Croom and hope he continues to respect the Uuiversity and it's supporters. I think he is probably frustrated and regrets what he said. Time will tell. I hate to see any former Tider fail but I don't want him to succeed in the wrong way. There are very few of us with no shortcomings and in a position to judge, especially without hearing all the facts/reasons.
