Re: 2013 DE Demarcus Walker Update
not entirely true considering he is enrolling early

Meh, that just means it ends in late December, not February. Either way, the circus continues as long as it can.not entirely true considering he is enrolling early
I`d hazard a guess that the staff will continue to recruit him as if he had not "committed"(I now always put the word committ in " " ).this article doesn't give me a warm fuzzy feeling at all. I like DW and he believe he can be a stud under CNS. hope he sticks with the Tide, if not I'm won't worry either.

"Well Alabama, just the way they develop players really stuck out," said the four-star rated prospect. "It was real close though Alabama was 100, Auburn was like 99.8 and Florida was like 99.5."
auburn, really??? with Liner, Lawson and possibly Adams, Walker wanted to join that crowded group.
"Florida could have easily won the race had they offered me earlier," stated Walker. "If you go back and look at my timeline - I took more visits to Florida than any other place. Plus it's close to home and all that. Alabama offered me before Florida did."
aside from what Bama has done for our players in the NFL in the last 3 drafts and what Bama can do for him at the next level, he committed to us because we offer first. okaayyyy.
you guys be the judge.
Sounds like a lower case "commitment" to me.I`d hazard a guess that the staff will continue to recruit him as if he had not "committed"(I now always put the word committ in " " ).
That's how coaches interpret these early commitments. Our staff continues to recruit. I don't want to take it away from a kid to have his decision televised, but it's important to recognize as you say that these commitments aren't worth much of anything until pen meets paper. 17/18 year olds change their minds constantly. The terminology of recruiting needs to change. These HS players should no longer use the word "committed". They do not understand the meaning of that word.
They should just have an announcement and say some school is my "leader".

True enough on that point, and to be sure there are kids out there who will directly and intentionally mislead a coaching staff. Foster was one, but by no means was he unique in that regard.... but I would rather him say what he did vs the ones like Foster who say one thing and do something else ...
This thread is going south fast. btw he commited to UA, lets focus on that

Everyone is focused on his public commitment to Bama. However, we would do the same if a guy we recruited heavily committed to another school but made the comments Walker has made. This thread is going south fast. btw he commited to UA, lets focus on that
