this article doesn't give me a warm fuzzy feeling at all. I like DW and I believe he can be a stud under CNS. hope he sticks with the Tide, if not I'm won't worry either.

I`d hazard a guess that the staff will continue to recruit him as if he had not "committed"(I now always put the word committ in " " ).

Sounds like a lower case "commitment" to me.

The terminology of recruiting needs to change. These HS players should no longer use the word "committed". They do not understand the meaning of that word.
They should just have an announcement and say some school is my "leader".

That's how coaches interpret these early commitments. Our staff continues to recruit. I don't want to take it away from a kid to have his decision televised, but it's important to recognize as you say that these commitments aren't worth much of anything until pen meets paper. 17/18 year olds change their minds constantly.

I do not see him going anywhere. His family seems to want him at UA, but I would rather him say what he did vs the ones like Foster who say one thing and do something else. Atleast he is honest about visits and schools will still recruit him. Do we honestly believe schools have stopped recruiting our other commits or that no one else will take visits.

True enough on that point, and to be sure there are kids out there who will directly and intentionally mislead a coaching staff. Foster was one, but by no means was he unique in that regard.

Yeah, all we can really do is take him for his word. I wouldn't like folks questioning my word so I doubt he would either. Look forward to seeing him in Tuscaloosa!!!

if u r not completely sure at that moment about where you want to go then whats the purpose of committing, it actually puts these coaches in a situation to where they might miss out on another kid.

top kid on board commits, coaches dont accept the next guy on the board because of it and he commits elsewhere. few months later the top kid decommits, and now the coaches miss on both. just a messed up situation.

can we please get an early signing period.

Everyone is focused on his public commitment to Bama. However, we would do the same if a guy we recruited heavily committed to another school but made the comments Walker has made.
