Defensive Questions for Bama vs. UGA

Scoring defense, they are no where near as good as 2021 and slightly worse than 2022 - and this before the extra 3 games against top ranked opponents this year. This defense is not nearly as good as the last 2 years, and not in the same hemisphere as the 2021 defense.

Right I agree the d is not as good as past two but very good. But they are scoring more than 21 and slightly less than last year but again had to break in a QB and different play caller. I wont count TCU as a good team last year just a stat pad game. lol So stats don’t tell the whole story. So I ask again why are people saying they aren’t as good instead of just different? Bowers has been hurt which also hurt them offensively stat wise.

Because they are not, and the stats back that up. Even against a significantly weaker schedule they are statistically worse.

I’m sorry I’m not trying to argue but it really isn’t as simple as that and that isn’t really an answer. The stats aren’t a huge difference other than the d from 21 to now. They seem more balanced this year than 21 and maybe last year but also just a different team. They also still won every game which says something schedule or not. Plus people are saying Oregon is very overrated as well so then why does that game last year help that schedule vs this year? Basically same schedule other than that. But they played a better mizzou team this year so you swap those and makes schedule just as hard excluding OSU. I asked originally just because it seems like people want to knock them just because and don’t really give answers. Like I said stats don’t tell the story with injuries and things that hurts them. I dislike them as everyone here but know they are very good again. Also think we match up pretty well. Depending on our d line and if healthy.

A good question I should ask I guess is would you rather play the 21, 22 or this years team with this Bama team? Again I am just genially curious on these answers and not arguing I promise.

This year's UGA schedule was a creampuff.

They finished both 2021 and 2022 with >3 games against top10 ranked opponents. In 2023 they will face a maximum of 3 - all in the post-season.

Hey Kirby, you should be game planning and stay of the message boards.

I would use Milroe on some 1st down runs. If he doesn't see a spy then I tell him to run. I want them to commit 2 spies to Milroe then pass.

Also, I would blitz the gap opened where Bowers leaves the line. They are not going to keep him in to block, so I would crash that void with whoever.is available. I would cover Bowers in man with a safety. If we can take Bowers away I think we can win.

They will try to use Beck as a runner some like Auburn did with Thorne to play ball control and keep us off guard. We didn't account for Thorne running and it hurt us. I think UGA will do the same.

I would not call a play that is practiced every Friday and executed properly a miracle play. It is a well executed play.

Your entitled to your opinion, practiced or not.. Though I believe the chances of converting 4th and goal from the 31 are very slim.

That is true. Doesn't matter. Alabama won. Get over it.

I've been over it. Thanks for checking in on me. It's nothing but a game. I don't take it so seriously. It may be one of the reasons that we have not moved up in the polls. We played some other games that we sneaked out with a win.

We are going to need a great day by the secondary covering AND tackling.; Beck gets the ball out in 2.35 seconds, #1 rated and is second most accurate in the country. It will be a challenge for our rush to get to him much.
BTW; Tua's time this year is 2.37.

Who is "we"? You are clearly not an Alabama fan.

What is it with all the attitudes? Get over it, guys. It's nothing but a game. Yes, I am a diehard Alabama fan. I also get season tickets and pick two road games every year. Been doing that since 1990. Seen the good, bad, and ugly. At the end of the day, someone is going to win and lose.

They are very slim, but the point is, they practice every possible situation that could possibly happen in a game. They show the players how to handle these situations so that just in case, they are prepared. The kick six is no different really. When you kick a field goal of any kind, you are told to cover the kick. The lineman may not be the best at covering a field goal but that was what they were doing. It didn't work, and the return guy did what he was told to do in that situation.

If someone wants to equate low percentage to a miracle (divine intervention or luck) they are free to do so. What will increase your percentage of doing something considered difficult is to prepare and practice. The more you practice you will become more efficient. When people insinuate that the play was luck, they are not giving the players the proper recognition for execution. That is the point I was trying to make.
