Diego Pavia on Alabama game: 'If we play our game, it won't be close'

  • Hi Guest, we are working on updating the site servers and software. We're also 'forcing' everyone to read and agree to our site privacy policy and terms of service. There are no significant changes to either of these but the terms page does clarify a few things that are mostly in the legalese. You can just click the checkbox for both and continue using the site as usual! We'll update you more on the site upgrades VERY soon! Im sorry, Im a former athlete (college) and I can't stand this type of disrespect he shows towards other teams and people in general. I wont ever accept it as "ok". Theres nothing wrong with cockiness but players like Pavia take it to an unhealthy and disrespectful level.
Long ago, Miami held the patent on utter immaturity. What l always found funny was how media even then tried to minimize it with, “Alabama talks trash, Larry Bird is one of the best known trash talkers”…..as if stuff you say during the game to an opponent nobody else hears is the same thing as Lamar Thomas putting his 2 title rings in front of the mics and saying, “The third will be the icing on the cake” before Teague de-pantsed him on national TV.

NOT the same and everyone knows it. Granted, social media has altered the discourse in an irreversible way.

I was waiting for the camera to show his mother again when the game was at hand.

ESPN and Gameday was on the Pavia train and doing it on our turf and on our day for Gameday. I thought that was very disrespectful to our university and team. Im glad we ruined everybody's party yesterday.

after the game, my brother said Vandy will go back to being Vandy again and the media will move on and salivate their next darling. they get a bye week coming up which means they stay home with their first loss of the season and sulk about the Bama game. their schedule for the remainder of the year is difficult, and we shall see if the Bama effect kicks in or not.
