Grant Alabama
Hey bama fans I was wondering if anybody on here from North Alabama has ever been to NC I am wondering what kind of drive it is I know it says it will take 9 hours to get there from grant Al but is it all Interstate or two lanes roads I am coming up by myself and I am wondering how boring of a drive it is thanks and Roll Tide

From B'ham take I-20 to Atlanta, take I-85 to Raleigh Durham then follow the signs. And it is boring!!

From Grant, no need to go through B'ham. I'm sure you are familiar with getting to Chattanooga, eh? At Chattanooga, take 1-75 North to I-40 merge, just before Knoxville. When they split, keep I-40 to east side of Greensboro, NC, where it merges with I-85. When I-40 and I-85 split as you approach the Raleigh-Durham-Chapel Hill area, take I-85 and follow signs.

I don't use a gps. Even if you use a gps, it's good to have quality maps. I got two free from NC Dept. of Transportation. Link: NCDOT: Maps & Publications

I hate going through Atlanta, though I may. From Slidell to Durham, Mapquest says 13 hours/823 miles. En route, I'll likely have overnight visits in Elmore, AL & in Georgia mountains at Cleveland, with friends and family.

I don't get to see mountains or hills, even, in my neck of the woods. So, for a more scenic route, I'm considering I-59 to Chattanooga. Then, the route I suggested from Chattanooga, except not take I-40, at that time. I'd stay on I-81 and take I-26 South to Johnson City. I've taken the beautiful 2 lane mountain drive on U.S. 321 from Hampton, TN (near Johnson City) to Boone, NC. From Boone, U.S. 421 East is four lanes to Wilkesboro, where it continues as limited access to I-40, at Winston-Salem.

BTW, Looks like I'll have a few extra tickets at market price. Private Message, if interested. Soon, they'll be listed at Ticket Swap, craigslist, etc. Oh, that offer goes for all.

The Duke game is a milestone game for Bama and Duke. Two teams coached by Hall of Fame coach, Wallace Wade, meet in the stadium named in his honor. Plus, the only stadium to host the Rose Bowl, other than the Rose Bowl in Pasadena. How cool is that!

I'll be traveling by myself too,I'm on the Alabama/Georgia line it's about 8 hours from here I believe, it will be a very boring drive
