Check back now. Abc 33/40 broke in an Raita made an annoucment saying it was official.

I watched ABC33/40 until 11PM watching "The Zone". I find this REALLY hard to believe.

Well I posted he would be fired on Sunday or Monday, not to brag.....

Normally I would not be excited for someone losing their job but you can fire me any day if you send me home with 4 million when I was already wealthy to begin with. Time to get someone that takes Alabama football as serious as the fans.

I don't think the issue was ever in doubt.

I only have one "source" who is connected to the situation (other than the mods). He made his mind up after the Duke and FIU games. I don't know exactly how this source communicated his opinion to the "powers that be" or what the process was. I only know that he thought it was time for a change.

Yes, ABC 33/40 annouced Shula will not be the coach in 07'. It is also posted on BOL website. The rumors are still flying, but Shula is officially fired. We will have to pay out 4 million in the buyout.

It is true according to a BOT member. If you check my hometown you can probably sort things out for yourself.

Ok, let's work under the assumption that Shula is indeed gone. (I'm only skeptical because I'm surprised that Mal Moore had the guts to make the right decision.) Does this mean that we've found a replacement? If so, who? I've thought all along that the only reason that the BOT, Moore, and Witt would choose not to retain Shula is if we could find a proven HC. I don't want to sound naive or just another Tide fan with a pipedream, but does this mean we got Spurrier?

I just saw this on ABC33/40 scrolling across the top of the screen:

"ABC33/40 has learned that Mike Shula will not be retained for the 2007 football season. Please stay tuned to ABC33/40 for this developing story."
