The Golden Nugget has released their preseason lines for CF. Some really interesting spreads out there. I read all the preseason mags but I look at the Vegas odds for a true unbiased look at how good or bad a team may be.

Only -8 V/s AU???? Crack and Meth are running very rampant in LV, along with Mexican Brown Tar Heroine. :p

I wish I had some cash to bet against that Ole Miss line.

The others for us look pretty good. The Iron Bowl line has to be what it is because not only is the game in Auburn...but it is the last game of the season...so (-8) is the safe bet. I'd still take us in the points though.

I know we see the betting lines all over the place, but I'm not really sure about how the whole betting on sports stuff works.

Do you have to go to Vegas to bet on college football?

Bottom line, is there any way to legally bet on college football in Alabama or online?

Honestly, I'm a little suprised that we are a 4 point favorite over VT. It will be interesting to see how the line moves as we get closer to actual game time.

You can bet online.

Call your local bookie, bet, and report your winnings to the IRS :)

You won't get any flack at all.

Don't report your winnings, now that's a totally different scenario.

The first and last one, as a bettor, would scare me.

Tennessee, I'd probably lay off, as of this moment.

Same with LSU.

I'd load up on the Arkansas game.

I'd bet the ranch, the house, my truck, my dog, and everything else I owned on the Ole Miss game.

Again, as of this moment...lol..

Things change.

I agree with those who favor taking Bama and 3 against Ole Miss. I expect those odds to change substantially. As I understand it, the Vegas oddsmakers aren't really looking for the "true" worth of one team versus another; but rather are looking for the breakpoint at which the same amount of money is wagered on each side of the betting line. That being the case, I think they'll have to wait a long time for the Ole Miss faithful to put their money down and give up 3 points against Alabama. The early money on Bama will (I predict...) move the odds closer to zero.

Glad I don't gamble, though.

The Sept. 24 matchup with South Carolina will tell us a lot about Ole Miss. Spurrier always has one great game every year. I don't care what anyone says, give the ol' ball coach a decent qb with a decent wr, and he is one of the best.

A few teams we play this year worry me. Tennessee still has a lot of talent left in Knoxville and imo a goof ball for a coach, we haven't seen what he can do with his high priced assistants. Maybe he is the real deal if he has himself surrounded with good enough asst.'s. Could be a hard fought win. Arkansas always plays Bama a tough game, every year, count on it. LSU has been recruiting at the top right along with Bama the last couple of years. Don't look for the Bengal tigers to not bring it all to T'Town this fall. Auburn and Alabama hate each other so much that either one is looking for a win and the tiggers would love to beat Bama any nasty illegal way they can. Bama best not go to the plains thinking they only need to show up. Ole Sis will be dangerous this year and will beat some good teams, hope it's not the Crimson Tide. I wish Bama would be the underdog in every game. Roll Tide

I'm about tired of all the ole miss hype. I don't even think the come in 2nd in the west lsu should take that spot IMO. I think the o~line may be a problem for the rebs this year.

This is true. The odds do not really have that much to do with how much better or worse a team is as they are created to lure bettors to both sides.

Nothing sucks the fun out of sports faster than betting IMO. It's just not worth the occasional win as you're going to be "lucky" to break even through the course of a season.

One thing about Ole Miss. We will not be looking past them this year, and it should turn out like Georgia, or Clemson did last year. All of the hype about how great that they were. And Bama just smash them in the mouth.

Take the Points:)

I'm picking Ole Miss to finish fifth in the West behind Bama LSU Auburn and Arkansas.

It's not that big of a reach to say they could start 0-3 in the conference with "at" games against South Carolina and Vandy and then getting us in Oxford.
