Game Thread: Florida at Utah (ESPN)

Sun belt billy is lucky not to be 0-2 vs Utah. I was not surprised in the least about them getting beat. Im just surprised that they didn’t get beat worse. This is a ground up rebuild at Florida and one that I’m not so sure SBB is going to given much time to pull off.

Man, Gatah looked bad last night.

I figured we'd see a team that was precise yet lacking elite talent to compete in the SECE. What we saw was a team that looks like even the fundamentals have been ignored the entire off-season.

I've been very open about being on the fence regarding Napier as a HC at the level - I'm not sure he's ready. And while they're only one game into the second season under his leadership, I can understand of Gatah fans are uneasy after last night. Not a lot to feel positive about.

Sorry, @Bazza

Florida like Alabama is not a place for on-the-job training. I know Billy coached at Louisiana Lafayatte but this is a different universe.

Not trying to downplay how bad it was. But it's a brand-new O-line starting their first game halfway across the country in a really hostile environment. Precision might not be realistic. we'll see what happens the rest of the year. They have got to find a running game and clean up the penalties (man that sounds familiar).

Hey guys, we want everyone to enjoy watching CFB games - especially Bama football - but we will not allow links that bypass the copyright (intellectual property theft aka IP theft). Any links to watch any game that bypasses the original broadcaster (such as alternative 'free' sports streaming sites or even Youtube, assuming it's being streamed by someone other than the broadcaster) will be removed ASAP.

Simply put, we will not allow TF.com to be jeopardized by illegal links.

Meh, they looked awful.

I'm sure they'll improve somewhat, but they looked slow, unmotivated, and under-developed to me. Maybe I'm being too critical, but goodness. What little hope I had that Napier would show out this season has largely evaporated.

You Could Be right. I am so glad divisions are going away so Georgia doesn't get constant layups every year.
We'll see what happens with Gator the rest of the year.

Obviously, the sample size is small. But yesterday's Florida game reinforced my opinion that having a O-line full of transfers combined with a transfer qb may be a recipe for disaster. *cough Auburn Cough*. It isn't as easy to plug and play with O-line the way it is wide receiver and running back. Communication and chemistry are so important.

UF was disappointing vis a vis their execution, on both offense and defense. The Utes were playing their 2nd and 3rd team QB's. UF has time to improve, but I don't see better than 7-5 for them this year. Utah is tougher than we SEC fans want to believe. Kyle Whittingham has been there for 30 years (11 as associate) and has a tremendous record. He knows how to recruit and coach. I am amazed no "big time" program has lured him away.

Napier and Florida are in a bad situation right now. Mullen really gutted the programs talent level and Napier has at least 2 more years to get talent where it needs to be to compete.

Call me crazy if you want, but Florida looks like a 4-8 team this year, take a look at the schedule and tell me where I am far off on this. 6-6 would be overachieving for them this season

Missed FG, the punt penalty leading to a TD, the INT and it was still only 24-11...dont think it was too dire for the Gators but they have a long way to go. Utah also has a ways to go..pick a QB and let him play...the uber fast one would be my pick!

I don't see six wins here
