Agreed. He has put pressure on himself.I don't think his first season tells the story. I think he'll get all kinds of slack, the talent pool being somewhat depleted. He'll need to show a lot of improvement in the second, and, if he doesn't by his third, he's probably toast. CNS was very careful not to raise expectations, but he set the bar way, way high for all new coaches by going 12-0 in only his second season. CLK has, contrary to what Nick did, actually raised expectations. He's put an extraordinary amount of pressure on himself, which, IMO, didn't need to be there...
His buy out is HUGE....7.5 million now and 5 million at the end of his contract. Do you think the university and/or boosters will want to pay Kiffin/Fulmer/and the next coach all at the same time?
That is the only thing that bothers me if he doesn't succeed. I do not want to keep him around just because of the cost.
