Either You Did or You Didn’t

Webster says, “an excuse is an attempt to lessen the blame attached to a fault or offense; seeking to defend or justify your actions or inaction." But in the end, excuses only satisfy those who use them.
If you know me well or you were a teammate or a player on a team that I coached. You know that I have a low tolerance for people with excuses. I’m a either you did, or you didn’t kind of person. I’m not particularly interested in the reason why.
Making excuses usually lead to sin. The reasons for not going to church. Not giving to someone. Exercising. Bad eating habit are not big enough to justify not doing, so people will lie just to make their excuse sound justifiable. We should take heed of Matthew 5:37, “Just say a simple, ‘Yes, I will,’ or ‘No, I won’t.’ Anything beyond this is from the evil one.”
When we condition ourselves into believing that making excuses is good for us, we will always try to escape when things get tough. Successful people are so busy getting things done that they don’t have time to make excuses. Once you stop giving excuses, you start giving results.
It all boils down to, “If you really want to do it, you do it. There are no excuses.”
