Honestly this maybe the most insecure administration in US history . The CIA director coming back with “credible sources” that the defense intelligence agency is wrong and the president is right on the extent of the damage to the facilities. Then limit the intelligence shared to an already postponed congressional intelligence meeting.

Arguing openly against your military intelligence on a military operation in public is a stupid practice, but to double and triple down on it without providing information that proves it incorrect is a dangerous course of action. This is starting to make his feud with James Spann over a hurricane look tame.

So Trump has announced Hegseth is going to hold a press conference tomorrow.

Which means he's getting set up to take the fall for the fact that we didn't hit jack squat.

Ask yourself - when have you EVER known Trump to give the mic and attention to others? You do it so you can later say Hegseth misled you and jettison him, blame him for the failure, go back to when he brought in that media guy on the other bombing and put him on blast.

Im just going to go out on a limb and say Hegseth will just echo what Gabbard and Ratliff just said and that is “the military is wrong on their assessment and the president was correct from the get go”. The problem is that even 4 days after it happened we don’t know the extent and we sure as hell didn’t know 4 hours after it. But Trump shot off his mouth and now he is faced with more accurate details emerging that suggests that the damage was nowhere near what he is claiming. Trump would probably be the best president Turkmenistan would ever have had if he was born Turkmen because he gives turmenbasy and his successors a run for their money with thr over the top nonsense he says and does.

I hope that, if the Iranians are coming to negotiate, Trump doesn't just say we don't need an agreement. It's actually probably strong evidence of substantial damage. David Sanger added something important to the discussion tonight - we destroyed their conversion facility, where the purified uranium is converted back from a gas to metal, I presume by using a catalyst to remove the fluoride. IDK how long it would take to rebuild it, but I'd guess a while...

As predicted… Hegseth’s briefing was a waste of time in order for the Trump administration to try and destroy an unflattering report about their own reporting.
My point yesterday stands.

When has Donald Trump EVER ceded the microphone to anyone else?
ONLY WHEN HE NEEDS SOMEONE TO BLAME!!!

Hegseth never should have been hired, he should have been spit canned for what he pulled with that reporter, and this is going to go down as his Waterloo moment when Trump fires him for misleading him all while insisting that Trump himself OBLITERATED the Iranian nuke program.

You know, you'd think we'd all get tired of watching the same movie - but then I remember that even I'm a fan of the James Bond franchise, which is the exact same movie over and over with slight variation on a theme.

Honestly… it’s why Live and Let Die and License to Kill are two of my favorites. Because they somewhat break the formula

Just like always, they want you to take their word for it and ignore the facts that come out and contradict our Führer.

This is a quote from Hegseth:
“Again, it was preliminary, a day and a half after the actual strike, when it admits itself in writing that it requires weeks to accumulate the necessary data to make such an assessment,”
If it takes "weeks to accumulate the necessary data," how can Trump claim complete obliteration? They are criticizing the media, but all they are doing is reporting on the preliminary data that was released, while the administration is sticking with Trump's claim, which is not backed by data, yet.

We all know what happened. In the initial hours after the strike, the Joint Chiefs chairman reported to Trump, probably almost word for word what he said in today's press conference:
First, that the weapons were built, tested and loaded properly. Two, the weapons were released on speed and on parameters. Three, the weapons all guided to their intended targets and to their intended aim points. Four, the weapons functioned as designed, meaning they exploded. We know this through other means intelligence means that we have that were visibly, we were visibly able to see them. And we know that the trailing jets saw the first weapons function.”
Trump then took that and, with his toddler mind and 4th-grade vocabulary, blurted out "obliterated" when he addressed the nation. I doubt anyone on his team knew that phrase was going to be used. Now that he said it, though, they will manipulate the facts to make it seem true, even if it is proven not to be true.

It's 2020 all over again: "You don't need to see the data, just trust us that it is true." Weeks from now, if it turns out they were "obliterated," they will say "see Trump was right and the media was wrong", even though no one knows yet, not even Trump, and we only have the preliminary data to go by. If it turns out that they were not destroyed, they will still blast any media outlet that reports the facts.

Hegseth said absolutely nothing of substance and sounded like he was on his 6th coffee already. Wasted his time (and mine) by going after the same old fake news rant.
It appears that the military plan was carried out very well. Still remains to be seen if it was effective. Claims of 'obliteration' and such from trump are meaningless at this time.

To those who were ‘unimpressed’ or borderline gloating on a leak: Operation Midnight Hammer worked. I’ve been calling for and fully supported those strikes, and it made the world safer. It should transcend partisan politics.

But Grossi also says

“At this time, no one, including the IAEA, is in a position to have fully assessed the underground damage at Fordow,” he said. “Given the explosive payload utilized and the extreme vibration-sensitive nature of centrifuges, very significant damage is expected to have occurred.”

and that “Iran most likely moved most of the key components before the attack. So annihilated is a bit much”

So it’s basically “Wait until the full independent reports come out and don’t believe Trump, Netanyahu, or the Ayatollah when they talk about the damage” Also consider Israel has labeled the destruction of power stations near the facilities as “severe damage”. I have no doubt that there is great damage but “totally obliterated” or “totally destroyed the nuclear program” is a vast overstatement at this point. Also “not operational” doesn’t mean “totally destroyed”. It could mean that… but it could also mean in 3-6 months of repairs it could be back on line too.
