Jalen Milroe is now the starter going forward.

The question of quarterback is settled…it will be Milroe. My hope is for consistency for Milroe and the team. There needs to be a sea change in attitude and effort if this team has championship aspirations.

And Simpson and Lonergan should be #2 and #3. Buchner needs to be regulated to charting plays or something.

I will be supporting whomever is on the field at all 11 positions every single play. RTR my friends

Great post. I think Milroe is the obvious choice per what my eyes tell me. I just want a gameplan that plays to Jalen's strengths and I think he needs to run it a lot which will open up the RB's inside game and long play action passes which is his passing strength.

Saban didn’t cave in 2017 to players. He was forced to make the switch because Daboll forced him.
I think it may be more of an AJ McCarron situation. Coach put AJ running the scout team one day in practice. later AJ went to his office to complain. Coach told him "this wasn't me testing your ability to play. it was testing your ability to lead. you failed."

Think about it for a sec. Jalen gets asked a question about the two pics he threw in the texas game. he has a bad answer and got called out. He then pops his mouth off, threw a few team mates under the bus, and blamed everybody but himself. At this point you can do two things as a coach, allow it or do something about it. Part of being a leader is being able to accept you made a bad decision and learn from it. Maybe, just maybe, Jalen learned from it. Maybe the "accountability" part of the team meeting was him getting up in front of the team and admitting he made an ass of himself and did not realize how that could affect the whole team.

but that is just my opinion.

You can say the QBs played poorly..but did you see what was happening on the QBs side of the LoS? Some of these folks seem to think that a sack is always the QB's fault. Hard to play "Good" if you aren't on your feet. That was unquestionably the worst blocking that I have seen in all my days of watching football...on any team. Getting hit from behind within 3 seconds....but we expect our QBs to make reads on LBs and CBs???
what was the quote from Al Davis? "if you want to affect the other team, the other teams qb must go down and must go down hard"

1) I saw at least a dozen “If Milroe is the guy I’ll support him” posts on Sunday-Monday and now 900 posts 2/3 trashing him now that he’s the guy because folks for some reason thought Simpson looked like a world beater (he was fine but definitely didn’t set the world on fire)

2) The arrogance of people who have the gumption to criticize CNS for how he’s performing in a job that literally none of you have ever done that he’s done at a higher level than arguably anyone ever for like 30 years. If I showed up at any of your jobs that you were LITERALLY THE BEST PERSON TO EVER DO THAT JOB ON EARTH and started telling you what to do—please tell me how you would respond

3) We’ve done something literally no one has ever seen in this sport for 15+ years. I loved going 11-2 last year and winning a Sugar Bowl emphatically —that is a good year by any standard

I hope Milrore plays well here on out we need him to.
The biggest problem I see with the offense is of the starting 11 how many high will be high draft picks?
Rb no. Qb no. Off line JC not playing like it so far and the rest? Te's not so far. Wr no. When we won it in 2021 we had 5 first round picks on offense. Dickerson went early in the second round and made All Pro at guard with the Eagles.
We have average talent on offense and the coaches need to
figure out the best way to get them to work together to
maximize their effectiveness.

I think this whole QB ordeal is a distraction and really covering up the secret that Alabama will wear white helmets going forward in a tribute to Coach Saban’s final year. It’s his swan song….so the white helmets seemed appropriate.

To ad to the flair of the festivities of the SEC opener this Saturday, Duron Carter will be on hand to give out autographed hunter orange script A hats to the first 1000 fans.

I think this is spot on. After the Texas game, most fans wanted to see Buchner and Simpson and I don't think anyone was shocked when they did play. Simpson led two scoring drives and we were able to hang on. It never crossed my mind that there was anything more going on until yesterday when I read this board.

With that said, Saban's comments yesterday regarding Milroe and his starting status were out of character, but we've also never been in a QB struggle quite like this, so it is uncharted territory to some extent.
We have had QB struggles before.

OL is partially a recruiting issue. We've had a number of highly rated guys flop.
Are there highly rated guys coming to Alabama, or are these guys highly rated because they’re coming to Alabama? Is the fact that they’re being recruited by Bama factoring in to their ratings? Because there must be some explanation for all the ‘misses’ lately.
