Jalen Milroe is now the starter going forward.

Maybe I’m wrong but I’ll offer my two cents. This is a direct result of NIL and the transfer portal which focuses on the players choice. It diminishes the authority and instruction of the coaches. It all works when the the coaches and players are on the same page for a common goal but if that is not the case the coach has very little leverage. The players rebel and take their ball somewhere else.
Nailed it

Been a fan since 1975. I'm fine with it.

STILL - do you not remember the lean years?? The 80’s were pretty rough. We won a championship in ‘92 and then the wheels came off completely.
I don’t think we’ll go through the trials and tribulations we went through replacing Coach Bryant, but I wouldn’t be shocked if we went through that crap again either!
Who wants to follow a legend? The GOAT?
After a year like this, which looks chaotic, you’d be ok with Saban leaving the program in a shape like that?? Seriously??

There are media people, including Josh Pate, who are questioning the effort Saturday. The tape is out there. I wouldn't say there are zero facts.

There are rumors that I don't want to believe, but then you watch the effort given against a really bad team that we were tied with going into the 4th quarter and it's hard to explain.
I saw the game too and I am surprised we pulled out the win at all. TB wasn’t the answer but he was the main reason we had no points until the defense left our offense in a positive position. FWIW I really like TS and think he can be developed into a starter but I as bad as I want him to be the starter I can see where CNS has decided to go with JM.

As far as Josh Pate and other unnamed media guys (which we all know when one reports they all repeat) unless he is quoting players or high placed sources it is all suppositions at this point, The players have said the meeting was about holding guys accountable and that they would support whoever was taking the snaps. They also reported that JM took his punishment without negativity and was supportive of all the players on the field. Now to me that is more powerful evidence than a sportscaster trying to make a story…fwiw I think Ingrams and RGIII comments were over the top as well and serve no good purpose.

Ask yourself this question. What’s more likely? “The players basically revolted” (keeping in mind we have seen it before) or “Nick Saban benched his starting QB and started the worst guy, knowing the original starter needs all the reps and confidence he can get, just to prove a point”. Are you seriously going with the 2nd one?
Well, when you ask it like that...

I just don't see Nick putting up with any of that milarky. We kicked a starting d lineman off the team in the offseason for playing nerf guns in the dorm and disrespecting a coach for peats sake.

I think it's obvious that the USF game was more of a test for who is 2nd and 3rd. The defense did their job. I believe it was more of a we're going to win, it won't be pretty, but we're going to see what my 2nd guys can do.
