We did win the National Championship right?

This past month has been surreal, it fell well below any expectation I could have had for it. Maybe I'm the only one, it wouldn't be the first time, but it sure doesn't feel like we just won #13. All the talk on the radio is of Auburn recruiting, Spencer Region, the New Orleans Saints, etc. . .

Auburn is winning right now. They've successfully distracted us from what we accomplished just 1 month ago. We can't let it continue. We've got to figure out a way to reverse the trend.

A UT fan I work with today made the comment "You know, you guys winning the National Championship hasn't been as bad as I thought it would be. I thought that's all I'd hear for the next 10 years, and I barely hear anyone mention it anymore. All anyone talks about is Auburn." That comment kinda got under my skin. I don't think he meant it in a bad way, but when an outsider see's the situation that way, it really strikes a chord.

Let's not let the decision of a marginal recruit sway our collective mood.

In other news, it's been reported that chunks of the sky have been descending to earth all over the world!

Take a deep breath, we're going to make it... ;)

I am still celebrating.

After what the rest of the college football world either did to us or said about us from 1999 til 2007, I never much expected there to be any attention paid to us if we won the NC.

To me, all that matters is winning on the field. Let Auburn have their celebrations over recruiting and a 16 yr old kid who got his feewings hurt and bought Cheeznik's spiel about fambly. None of that changes the fact that we beat them on the field and that we will beat them on the field again this fall. And rest assured. No matter how much they prance around and crow about recruiting, they know they got beat and they know they'll lose again this year. And that dampens any cheap celebration they may be having right now.

I agree. I don't want it to, but it's dominated all the talk on the radio, and throughout water cooler conversations, etc. the past few days. Even still, I think it's more than what just happened with Region. There's been a lot of negativity aimed at our program over the past few weeks and we've got to end it.

We were out of the collective minds of ESPN, Fox Sports and Sports Illustrated little more than a week after the Bowl Game. Even much of the game and it's outcome were overshadowed by McCoy's injury. Who was the first person interviewed after the game was over? McCoy. The games over and you interview the loser? C'mon ABC.

There's just been a cloud hanging over us the last month, and it's getting old. It's not coming from within, which is good news for a change. It's nothing we're doing to ourselves. For the first time in a long time we've got a bullseye on our backs because we're good.

Agreed...we have no control over the media. Region is a big guy but the Chad Lindsay highlight reel makes me forget all about Spency, lest not forget we did get Arie and that means there is a very good chance we will get his little brother Cyrus this yr. The OL is stacked full of beasts and Spency will have his hands full with our up and coming DL as well. I hate all the hype anyway, suits me just fine if they leave us alone. Out a sight out of mind, then we will smash you in the mouth!!! ROLL TIDE!!! Saban said this was just the beginning and he is the type of man who doesn't talk just to hear himself, he MEANS it.

Maybe you just work with a bunch of idiots. Ever thought about that? For what it's worth no one outside of Alabama even knows where Auburn is, much less talking about them. So relax, smile more and know that we are national champions. Maybe they are the "water cooler talk champions" wherever you work at the moment.

There's a lot of truth in that. Good point.

I work for the government! So nice job on the accidental mockery of our countries political well being

Draw consolation from the fact that this is February. You can't win anything right now. I'm not going to let the Keenan Allen, Spencer Region or James Stone recruiting setbacks affect my mood. Based on Nick Saban's track record, there's no reason to suspect anything, other than a very impressive recruiting class.

I'm willing to let the Barners and the Viles be offseaon optimists, ask Cubs fans how much fun that is. Just remember their "expectations" this fall, while we sing Rammer Jammer! :BigA:

Favorite SB XLIV commercial has to be the Clydesdale wannabe Longhorn cow. Trying to steal sales from Lonestar, I guess.

Know what Dr. James Andrews told Colt McCoy?

"There's nothing wrong with your arm".

Good job on the Drew Brees shoulder surgery, though.

No mention that I saw of the reconstruction of that shoulder by Dr. Andrews.

If only Colt could have stayed in the game, things would have been different.:biggrin::biggrin::biggrin::biggrin:

It feels different for me too (in a good way). 1st time in a long while I don't have to sit on pins and needles waiting for next season to avenge some losses. I now get to enjoy and celebrate this off season.

Let 'um chirp. All the hoo-ha coming from the university of auburn, ut, etc., about recruiting is just that..hoo-ha. Sounds like a case of:

Rest assured, the beatings will continue.......

:biggrin::biggrin:

No offense Redstar, but you worrying about what outsiders think is your problem. How do you feel? I feel pretty good about this past season and feel pretty good about the upcoming season. Let 'em talk up the Barn. Their beating next November will be so much sweeter.

Hasn't dampened anything for me. I'm actually enjoying their misguided elation over their signing class. The dumb-arses are acting like they appreciably closed the gap between us and themselves. Nothing could be further from the truth. At best, all they did was to kinda, sorta prevent the gap from growing even wider and that's assuming that their class is equal to ours, which I seriously doubt.

Maybe this will cheer you up. Man, I know I'm on at least a 12 month high.

Redstar,

LOL!!

I am sorry you feel this way..I live here in the Bay Area, Ca. Most people don't know where Auburn is. most think is in Georgia. and frankly, they could care less about those goobers!!

All my friends and co-workers know that I am on cloud 9 after Bama won the BCSNC. I am still celebrating and will continue to do so until we lose a game next season. but like most BAMA fans, I "act like we've been here before", so I carry on like I normally do during my daily routine, but deep down inside, I have this silly grin that radiates in my Crimson heart!

oh, as far as auburn is concerned, remind me who they are and what have they done??? :BigA:
