I hate to break it to ya,but this is old news. I really hoped CNS prior relationship with Joe Mc would get us a visit,but it appears state pressure etc was just too much!:redface:

not a surprise at all. doesnt even phase me because i figured he would be wearing purple and gold from the start. USC, Ole Miss, Bama was just to keep his name in the paper for a few more weeks.

there was no bandwagon. no1 knew for certain that saban was coming until the plane went and picked him up. even mal moore said he didnt know if we had got him until the next morning when he arrived at his house. if you say that you KNEW saban was coming, then ur a fool. u guessed and hoped like we all did. even a broken clock is right twice a day. but it turned out for the best and we now have him. and i guess i will speak for myelf and stand my ground if i have to stand on it alone. having players come and go right back out like the doors at alabama are revolving is embarrasing. we already have enough negativity in the press. first its bashing saban's integrity and ours for hiring him. then its the recruiting battle that thinks its immoral for us to be talking to other school's commits (even though they're talking to ours). now the press we're getting is that its too late for bama this year, too little too late for this and that guy. guys coming to visit and then heading off in the distance to join another squad. making it look like something else is wrong with the program. saban's arrogance has been suggested as a problem. i dont see anything wrong with it personally but its not what alabama fans or i think. it really does matter whats out there in the press. another thing is the facilities, 3 prospects have now said other schools had much better. yes i know the press spins but its still fact that the stories are out there. these are the stories that the rest of the guys that are uncommited are seeing and hearing. when 4-5 star recruits come in and then turn the other cheek, it send signals that somethings off and effects next years recruits as well. im not saying lets just take what we can get. im saying lets shut up and keep things under the table and quiet. there's no doubt in my mind that if we would just keep ourselves out of the limelight, none of this pressure between au, al, and lsu would be as bad as it is. therefore commits wouldnt feel uncomfortable with giving alabamaa shot before they even set foot on campus. we wouldnt have problems with getting guys to just visit if we could convince them we can keep it out of the press and they wouldnt recieve the backlash like luther davis has recieved. im out for the protection of the image right now. the championships that we are gonna win and the restoration of the program is great to talk about but not right now. the 1st season hasnt started yet

sorry if its so long above. and im really sorry that some people arent internet savy and dont understand ur = your, b = be, c = see, em = them. didnt realize i was back in english class. surprised some people even know how to log on. but anyway. well lets see. brown (prolly both of them), mcknight, bailey, creer, mcneil, jones, devine, are out. corley, chapman, and gibson arent as near a lock as some think. especially gibson with auburn giving a huge push. is it the facilities? no alabama has the best ive seen in the SEC. id say we're tied with tennessee's. cant lie as much as i hate them. they're impressive.... the field? nope the stadium is one the largest and most beautiful ive ever seen....the tradition? the academics? sure isnt the coaches...we have the dream team...cant get them to visit? all but 1 did....so you tell me when im supposed to wonder WTH is going on down in ttown? dont tell me its for lack of time. every school is grabbing commits in a weekend. including us with bailey. creer with TN. only takes a visit. today we just got 1 (farmer) that didnt even have us on the list. so what part of this isnt embarrasing and giving the barners something else to spit in our face about? when do you think it becomes a problem and we need to start asking why the doors at bama are revolving?

Understanding 'ur', 'b', 'c', and 'em' has nothing to do with being 'internet savvy'. We're not text messaging here. You have a full keyboard at your disposal and you're not being charged by the letter.

If you're embarrassed by this year's recruiting process, perhaps you should switch teams to one that lands every 5 star it goes after.

... after reading the majority of your post on this recruiting board, i would like to nominate you for the Pessimist of the Year award, but since you just got here, it will have to be Pessimist of the Month

... it's for certain nobody will ever accuse you of being a "pumper" :smile:
 
I just don't understand some people. It's like just because we don't get every player we go after or some highly regarded players turn us down, all of a sudden our recruiting is in "trouble" and we're no longer going to be able to compete on the field or something. Quick news flash for ya, nobody gets everyone that they want or go after, nobody! And why are we even discussing this now anyway, signing day is still about a week away! Another thing to, who cares what a kid is rated coming out of high school anyway, the only thing that matters to me is what he does once he gets to college and how he progresses, and as we've all seen sometimes you get very surprising results. Sure signing all these highly rated players is all well and good, but it's just for show really, those stars can mean very little once they step foot on a college playing field.
 
even bear bryant told the press when the they and the alumni expected him to go undefeated that he was part of the alumni and he didnt even expect to go undefeated. would you nominate bear as a pessimist? he didnt "pump" there

Well, apparently you that's who. If we were to listen to you, apparently everyone would think the sky is falling or something. It's not the end of the world because we missed out on a few recruits!
 
Well I for one can't understand why coaches that spent the past year + wooing these kids are landing them. I mean CNS has been here a month, that is a LONG time to build trust and relationships with these kids, and why exactly haven't we gotten that NC yet?

... this is only a guess, but i'm thinking Coach Bryant probably passed before you were born, so i can understand you not knowing, but Coach Bryant always wore the mantle of a pessimist with the media

... you can't growl and grumble like a bear, and be an optimist :smile:
 
dont ask me about the NC. yall are the "pumpers" so tell me. yeah a month is way too short to build a relationship i agree. i guess TN has no chance. Creer pops up on their list a week and a half ago. 1 visit. o wait, they were able to close the deal. davis committed to LSU, pops up on alabama's list. 1 week into recruiting. 1 visit. we closed the deal. i guess im just asking too much. yeah every1 needs a year to do anything
