Keelon continues to impress finishing #2 again after Day 2 Pro Day according to 247. On3 had him at #8 and Rivals #7 on day 2 due to his first 8 throws but they both said he was great after the rough start.

Russell was one who probably would like a do-over on his first eight throws or so as he let some get away from him, but once he rebounded, he had some of the best balls of the day. The Alabama commit has one of the strongest arms in the country, firing bullets from start to finish. With his arm strength and great timing, Russell had some of the better deep ball connections we saw. Russell’s Day 2 performance combined with the first day give us a great feeling about his abilities moving forward and his status as a top-50 prospect.

I totally agree SJC. I did not know he was only 16 and 2nd youngest at the event. The LSWho corndog who went off on how the Bama dynasty and good recruiting is over since we are now flipping SMU players looked stupid at the time but is looking more stupid as each day goes by.

I am glad we settled for this guy instead of recruiting an elite player for the future of the QB position. I really hope he pans out on the field when he gets to Bama, but he is a good example of our coaching staff’s evaluation abilities!

I had no idea Brodie won an Elite 11 and I find that shocking.

He threw Lasers and had a Very strong arm overall but he had terrible touch.

He was like a much smaller Kitchens in that regard.

Didn't matter the Route or Distance those 2 just threw it as hard as they could.

To expound on your take regarding this staff's evaluation of Russell. He was their #1 target at QB. It didn't matter to them if he wasn't a five-star or the Top 5 QB in this class. Deboer knows talent and how certain players fit into his offense regardless of where the player is from. Russell winning MVP at the Elite 11 against QBs who were nationally rated higher and had more notoriety than him just cemented Deboer's evaluation even more!
