Same here, I couldn't care less about pro-sports. B'ball stinks worse than football. High schools are now being corrupted. Not much left.

Milroe's first NIL deal was with Rhoback. They really pushed him to the front of their advertising after the Georgia game. They have to be questioning that choice now.
It sounds like between the NIL and transfer portal most players are free agents to come and go at will. What does this also do from a discipline standpoint? If you suspend a player for rules violations, he will just quit and hit the portal. As some have stated, the game I loved is no more. I've never really been a pro football fan because of the money involved and now college football, as it now stands, is a worse version.
Just remember that all programs are dealing with this

The only way to fix it is to break from the NCAA and even then I don’t know how much regulation you can enforce. The flood gates are broken wide open with the intent that it couldn’t be fixed. I foresee legal battles coming to anyone who stands up to it
As far as SINK(LANK) is concerned, we’ve been held hostage by it. It’s cost us a potential NC and a SECCG/playoff appearance. I would tell all those involved to never come back, it’s clear you don’t love the University of Alabama

So let them hit the portal. Coaches have to have the guts to do that. The players will have to learn that the grass isn't always greener on the other side of the fence.
You fix it with a union and CBA. Nothing else will work.

Don’t disagree, but what if they push back (not the players, but the business)? As unfettered as everything has become, how can Alabama exclude them if what they’re doing is paying players for their name, image, and likeness in exchange for endorsing a product, and I’m guessing with LANK making a margin in the process? My guess is we’d be opening ourselves up to a lawsuit, and the optics around that would be ugly, quickly.
I’m coming around to @4Q Basket Case way of thinking on collective bargaining, as much as I really don’t like it, because it seems like the least of multiple evils…

Here is the crazy thing about this whole NIL deal: its going to cause the NFL talent to drop substantially in the next couple of years. You can already see it happening, back in 2015 they were talking about how there was gonna be a OLine apocalypse because teams were becoming air raid pass happy and not having to teach the fundamentals of the position. There is alot of ugly football on sunday now, and its just gonna get worse because there are far too many players not staying till seniors and developing their skillsets.
Its becoming unwatchable. Now College is becoming unwatchable.
This is exactly why I have said I will not be buying anything or contributing to any NIL merchandise or service. It is a corrupting influence.
I would be ok with this if the organizing body was committed to holding people accountable just like the NFL does with HARSH penalties for violating the CBA stipulations. When I mention harsh I mean $1million+ fines, loss of playoff privileges for 3 years, loss of many scholarships, etc etc etc. BUT the enforcement folks have to be incorruptible - unlike the keystone cops the NCAA employs and who have led vendettas against certain schools.
