Link: LB Jonathan Atchison update

BOL is also reporting that a decision has likely been made in Atchinson's mind and that he has a strong hunch where he wants to go…but that he just wants to take officials to the Barn and T-town to be extra sure. You’ve gotta like our chances…

I like the officials he set up. ALABAMA VS TULANE and LSU @ AUBARN. Seems like he really likes BAMA and is using the BARN to see an awesome football game. What do y'all think?

I hope we get this young man, he would be a great addition. If we could ink Patrick, Johnson, Atchison, and Robinson (Jack), that one be one great haul at linebacker. Saban said previously that we won't fix our problems at linebacker until we recruit our way out of them, and that's the truth. Thankfully, it seems we are well on our way to doing just that.

And the fact that it's an Alabama v. Auburn battle, you have to love that. We haven't lost one of those in a very long while, and I suspect that if the coaches really put on the full-court press for Atchison, he won't change that either.

Im sorry, but this just doesnt sound like something CNS would ever say. In my opinion your statement leads people to believe that CNS had given up on the current LB's at the University, and I doubt he would elude to that in any form. He might believe it personally, but I doubt he would make his inner feelings brought to public light.

If there is an article I will stand corrected.

No, that's a direct quote from Saban. He made a comment along those lines, while referring to the team as a whole, at SEC Media Days, and in particular he said that in reference to the linebacker corps at the Crimson Caravan stop that I attended.

And it's not that he's given up on anybody. Hell, if anything he's turned a bunch of kids who did not even look like SEC caliber players into solid contributors. That said, though, we are still thin at linebacker in terms of quality depth, and it's pretty obvious. I don't think it was anything to do with revealing his inner feelings as much as it was him just admitting the obvious.

He said it, but it's being quoted out of context. I believe the comment was in regards to depth rather than talent level.

CNS definitely said it. He's not knocking the current guys...he's just being a realist. If you look at the UGAs, the LSUs, the UFs, they've got twice as much talent at LB as what we've got right now. CNS was just saying he's got to get out and recruit some talent so that we have enough quality depth to win a championship.

I think the statement is more focused on depth than lack of talent....even though we could use an upgrade in a couple of our LB spots right now...
