LSU vs MSU Game thread

I think they were trying to pull a fast one on them! I think it would have scored a touchdown if the offensive line could have held on for just a few more seconds...

It would have been nice to see them score, :(

If Henig could have quit throwing beach balls to the LSU secondary they might could have actually been in the game. Six interceptions (no matter who you're playing) should cost you your job. State would be better off going with the true freshman, taking his bumps and riding Anthony Dixon all season long. I thought Henig was better than that.

It didn't help that the receiver got run over before the ball got there. That was a bad no-call. A touchdown there might have made the game interesting for a little while longer.

I really think it would have made the game more interesting!

Regardless -- I think LSU would've still won the game...

You're right though, (more interesting by far)

For most of the first half MSU's defense held LSU in check and on many plays just plain overwhelmed parts of the OL. LSU didn't really start having success until MSU's defense began wearing down. This was due to four turnovers causing them to have to be on the field perpetually.

LSU's defensive line didn't overwhelm MSU's OL like everybody thought. For a few plays MSU was actually having success running the ball then for some reason just quit. Henig began to throw INT's, MSU never committed back to the run and by result of fatigue LSU began to have success against MSU's defense.

There's talent on that MSU team except at the QB position which will keep them at the cellar of the SEC West.

There was a "very brief" period at the beginning of the game when one of MSU's running-backs was having some success...

I had a quick flash-back (Florida vs MSU) :D

Dixon began having some pretty good five and six yard runs with the guards pulling. But the problem was MSU couldn't mix in a passing game to continue the running success. No one is going to be able to line up and run every down and expect to win. Being able to have balance at points during games helps win games and sustain drives. My point was LSU's defense can be run on, or at least tonight they showed signs that it could be. But when a team can't even complete a pass you don't have a chance.

Henig will "Croom" Croom this season. That had to be one of the worst QB performances I've ever witnessed.

We both know USC would have destroyed the tigers tonight...

You know it -- I know it

(perhaps you actually don't know) hmmm... ;)

LSU was a giant ? mark due to the installation of Flynn -- Many questions about their offense were answered tonight,

USC doesn't carry those problems into the season!
Doesn't matter, you haven't even seen them play.

Bama had none of those questions marks when we went to UCLA ranked 3rd in the country.

You are buying into the hype. You can refuse to admit it all day, but until you see them play a quality opponent, you're blowing smoke...
