RTR! Loved the tourney energy or at least a more vigorous defense. Not sure if we are getting ready to peak or uk is wrecked by injury but I’ll take it. The tv crew talked about nba scouts in the building and it did seem like we were pressing early but what a fun second half. If sears stays steady and Philon continues to grow….the sky’s the limit. We lost to Auburn three times in the 98/99 season. And to Mississippi State in 07/08. Also, Kentucky in 15/16.

Payback for the last time comes tonight.

If I recall correctly, we lost FOUR times in one season (I could be mistaken because I’m going off memory) to Kentucky under Wimp Sanderson. Mid 1980’s. We lost close games home/away then played them in the SEC tournament again.

Then, the tournament committee in their infinite wisdom put us in the SAME region and we lost the fourth time in Atlanta in the Sweet Sixteen.

Last night takes a little bit of the sting out of that season.

It was putting us in the position of “playing through them” to get past the sweet sixteen. If we played in the region final or the final four, and we lose, well okay.

Agree; he had his best game yesterday in a LONG time. 16pts, 4rb's, 3 steals and a block in only 19 minutes. If he finds his mojo like last year at this time it brings the other team's 4 out to guard him. BIG plus for us.

I was a young teenager then and had the exact feeling you described. Kinda like the times we've been put in same region as UAB and USA, etc - especially in NIT - with them forcing us to play a team we despised (UAB under the Bartows)

I dunno. Kinda doesn’t matter to me at this point. I kinda think they’ll beat the hell outta each other today. Awbren looked tired and slow yesterday. Didn’t watch the Viles game but I think they’ll play Thug-Ball as usual. I just wanna revenge the Gayturds and work our way back on the 1 line.

Usually the top line seeds are determined before tournament play. The conference tournaments typically only matter if you’re on the bubble. It’s a good bet the committee already has that vast majority of the field locked in except for the auto-bids.
