Mike Ford Arrested

Driving without a licence is not exactly a felony. It is something many people in my family have done. It's like I have said before, when you are a high profile ball player everything you do gets scrutinized. I don't think it's that big of a deal.

did i read that right? the title said FRESHMAN rb mike ford. he graduated in 04.

This is how I understand it. 2005 would have been his freshman year but he was in prep school which does not count against eligibility. Then in 2006 he took a redshirt. So in 2007 he will still be a freshman.

Let's see, can't make the grades and now is arrested for not paying tickets then blowing off a court date.

Yah, sounds like an ideal prospect to me!

You should leave your facts out of this.:biggrin2: Being a law abiding citizen is not a quality that should be looked for in high school recruits. That brings alot of credit to the universtiy. Just ask the Miami Hurricanes. They have a great reputation for "overlooking" some "minor" legal problems.

"Dodged a bullet"? Come on, it's driving without a license, not exactly a big 'problem kid' issue.

When you see anybody, talented running back or not, doing this kind of stuff, it paints a broader picture of what to expect from them. Can't make his grades + no discipline + thinking he's above the law like Paris Hilton = LOSER.
So glad he didn't come to Bama.

I wonder if that unregistered vehicle he was driving was part of his perks for signing with USF. Hmmmm......

I'm surprised by those of you who think this is "no big deal." Sure, in the grand scheme of bad things a person can do, this is minor, but when blessed with the opportunity to do something good with your life one should not do stupid things like drive on a suspended license then fail to show for a court date. Hello???

I don't think its too big of a deal. I mean its not like he was driving with a stolen gun and a bag of weed in the car or anything.

Ask UcheaT or Miami how big of a deal this is. If this happened at either of these schools during football season, he would not miss a game.:)

Seriously, in the grand scheme of things this is minor compared to some of the things you hear college athletes doing. Granted this does exactly make Ford look like a role model, but it's not exactly a felony.

Would I do it? No, but it could be so much worse. Let's not throw him under the bus. He's a 19 year old kid. Let's hope he learns from it.
