Way too much money being made, it is not going away and we just moved away from divisions so they aren't coming back anytime soon, if ever.
12 team playoff is going to allow more SEC teams in than ever before, regardless of SECCG participation.
Having divisions doesn't necessarily prevent this scenario from happening.
A team that has 4 losses shouldn't make the playoffs IMO unless there are not enough 3 losses or less teams to fill the bracket. Seriously, we are talking about a 4 loss teams chance to make the playoffs? How about you don't lose 4 games if you want in.
I'm not sure how many 3 loss teams will actually get in, I think 2 losses will be the limit, except for the stupid G5 spot. But, if a 3 loss team gets in it will probably be one that loses a close one in their CCG. I don't see a non-CCG 3 loss team jumping a CCG loser unless the CCG is a blowout. Currently, neither poll has any 2 loss teams in the top 12.
I like the non-division model, no more 3 loss teams making the CCG. I'm not worried about A&M, I still think they finish with 2 conference losses. Texas will beat them, and 1 other team will sneak up on them and win, probably South Carolina or Auburn (which are both road games).
