The team addressed that with Moore already and I don't think anything will come out of that. As long it's being handled internally with the team, I'm good with that.

His mom chimed in

So I think it's already addressed and I think we'll be fine.
I'll believe it when I see on the field. These boys don't fear these coaches in the slightest.

Feels like their is way too much selfishness and entitlement.

I hope DeBoer himself actually does something instead of being mister nice guy in this situation.

Yeah, we lost, yeah we looked bad on D.....but what's really stuck in my craw is the lack of discipline and the constant bad emotions showing up on the field.

I’m not gonna get in my emotions bc a kid screwed up and let his emotions make him look childish and reckless. BUT- he’s gotta sit this week. If we lose then that’s a lesson he’s gotta learn. Heck this would be a good time to have a come to Jesus meeting with the whole team and to show them actions still have consequences under this staff too

Who's going to fill his shoes on an already anemic defense? I think he should get some sort of practice in-house punishment, but we can't afford to have him miss a game. We can't afford another loss or there will be no playoffs and the fans will go crazy and the message boards will break the servers!
That’s exactly why he has to sit. We can’t afford to lose him but the coaches have to show they are willing to lose a game to prove no one is bigger than the program itself. If he doesn’t get a stern punishment deboer risks losing the locker room 5 games in

You mean the same way Gene Stallings suspended David Palmer and Saban suspended Cam Rob? Oh wait......
Discipline is a case-by-case situation. This is the first time I can recall MM acting up like this, no doubt due to deep and intense frustration. He could've gone out for the draft or transferred when Saban left, but he chose to stay another year and lead a young, green secondary through a coaching transition. Not condoning what he did at all, but I think jumping to conclusions about what Deboer is or isn't doing about it is pointless. Let the man do his job and handle the matter internally as his predecessors did.

I have the same last name so I have worn a t-shirt with our name and his number for the past 2 years, I doubt I'll wear it again. I was very disappointed and he should sit gameS. And no more captain, EVER.

This is my thought and I'm going to move on from this.

I found this interesting that everyone is comparing CKD to the previous coaches, in how they wear clothes on sideline, how he handles the program, and etc.

"Coach Saban would've skull dragged Moore and kicked him off the team!!!!!"
"Coach Stalling wouldn't put up with this! "

Things like that makes me wonder about fans sometime, because to me, every coach we hire, we hire in different era, different times, so they handle things according to what they see what's best for the team and the program itself. I really don't care about CKD and how he wears his hat, his t-shirts on the sideline. I really don't care about the music at the practice. I really don't care he doesn't get upset on the sideline. All I care is that he puts the team in the best position to win games each week and I know he will.

I'm not happy with Malachi Moore and the way he acted on the field. But that doesnt mean he deserve to be kicked off the team or anything like that. Everyone needs to step off the ledge and put emotion aside. It's just football in the end of the day. The outbursts by Moore is nothing new. I used to see that all the time growing up. Marvin Strong had his moments, John Petty, Matt Burke, Eric Robinson, John Wallace, those are local legends who excelled in sports and are from Huntsville who went on to do big things after high school and I know all of them. The point is Everyone is human. We all do things like that. If you say, "I would never acted like that." I don't believe you. You probably have done that and just don't remember. It might be at home, at work or somewhere in public.

What happened Saturday night was inexcusable for the coaches and the players. Everyone messed up. Offense tried their best and they did their job, but Defense couldn't get the job done. Wommack should've made adjustments, and he didn't. there was way to stop Vandy's offense. Nine missed tackles was charted in this game. Nine. Those nine tackles would've resulted in unfavorable position and likely forced punt.

I think Defense will be fine going forward. Whatever happened in Georgia's game carried on to Vandy's game and I'm not talking about performance on the field, I think it's some internal locker room issues going on because some players don't like new changes and so they're acting up.

I was very confident we would beat vandy, but late Thursday, I was starting to get concerned, and what Saban said confirmed my gut feeling and I told my wife, we would struggle in this game, not because it's Vandy, but because the players was not taking it serious. But going forward, I expect defense to improve significantly this weekend.

Time to move on to SC game.

Everyone can take up for him, new era with players, this is all bull! When a coach ask to come off the field you should go that's a embarrassing moment not only for the coach but the program and some say that Palmer, Can Rob was handled inside the team but they didn't kick a football or throw a mouthpiece did they? He has to be suspended or you lose your team , we had 10 other guys just watch him when someone should of took him aside and said brother when don't do it that way

Malachi is one of my favorite players. Up until his Saturday tantrum he was one of my favorite people. Might still be depending on how he responds to the discipline that should be applied. I, for one, am not abandoning the guy over this episode but, as many have stated, this is a sign of culture change that has been creeping in for 4-5-6 years now and it's not exclusive to Alabama athletics.

CKD is a different coach. He's not CNS. He's not going to adopt CNS"s personality, his persona, his attitude, his tactics. There will never be another CNS. We're in a completely different CFB era. The game as we knew it is gone and will not return.

My next question is this. Has Malachi addressed the team, coaches included, yet? If so, has he apologized for his actions? IMO if he can't do that then he should be stripped of the "C" on his jersey and given the steps to earn it back. Keep him around, not because he's probably the most valuable D-Back we have, but if he's willing to prove himself as worthy of the "C".

Roll Tide Malachi. We all stumble. You're a better man than that moment on Saturday.

My final thought is this: what happens is up to Coach DeBoer and Malachi. But, just as Coach Bryant did with Bob Baumhower, the parent(s) need to be part of the discussion, even if Malachi is an adult and no longer under their “control”. IMO SOMETHING must done. The discipline must be “swift and meaningful”. It has to send a message to Malachi and the rest of the team. Impactful to the extent it leaves a lasting impression on all. Sitting? Community service? Demotion? I don’t know. Malachi isn’t my son and I’m not the coach.

I’ll give two examples, one personal and one “close” to that. First, my son was in high school. He violated a team rule. Serious? Well serious enough they had a team rule concerning it. I took the decision out of the coach’s hands. He sat the next game (and he was a starter). I had other parents “lobbying” me to let him play. To no avail. Above all, the HC supported me. His response was “I make decisions about the team. You make decisions about your child”.

The second had to with a player at another school. As a senior, the parents had given the player a car. For context, this player had already been named All State, was a top recruit and had received offers from major division one schools. And had committed to playing at a D1 school. So, from the team performance standpoint, this player NOT playing was important.

So what was one of the rules (not a team rule but a parent rule) ? Absolutely no texting and driving. Unfortunately this player was involved in an auto accident. No one was seriously injured but easily could have been. The parents asked “were you texting?” After several denials the parents said “we can pull your text history”. Then the truth came out. The decision was out of the coach’s hand. The player sat, one game for the action, and one game for lying about it.

Many would say “you’re hurting the team”. Maybe, but our actions and decisions can and do impact others, both positively and negatively. The biggest impact on my life has not always the good decisions I made. To the contrary. It was the stupid decisions I made that impacted others negatively and hurt others. And every day I wish I could “take them back”. But what did I learn? There is “a great big world beyond my own nose” and not everything is about me.

I've known MM's family for years. He comes from a great family and he is a great young man. He was saved a few months ago and he made a very embarrassing mistake. Excuses don't need to be made for him but grace should definitely be gave to him. He made a mistake as a young man on a national stage. We all made mistakes on a much lesser platform and didn't get the opinions of millions about our actions. Should he be held responsible by the coaches? Absolutely! Does he need millions of fans piling on? Not at all. Let the coaches handle it and let future actions dictate our opinion on how it was handled. If I know MM like I think I do he will reflect on this and you will never see him act out anyway like this again. I love his passion but he has to learn that he has to channel it in the right way. There aren't many young men that I would let date my daughter, but MM is one of them. He is a great person and has a bright future.

Hmmm. Didn't know that but still. Saban said later it was to get him to change his style of play. So .... I think there were multiple reasons for that game and Saban knew we could win it without Milroe. CNS acted in mysterious ways.
In this case, "get him to change his style of play" means "stop throwing interceptions".

We are dealing with a generation of people who have never been taken to the woodshed.

And it shows.
Nailed it!

I'm not sure I want him suspended, I'm not even demanding transparency into a potential punishment. My biggest disappointment and concern is the lack of reaction from the coaches. A player refuses to sub-out and the coaches are just "okay". Next time maybe they should say "please" first.

No in-game adjustments being made, no concern in the presser, letting a defiant player get his way. All of this is more concerning than finding out the exact punishment that might happen.
