Moore's Actions at the end of the game...

Nice to see MM’s post. I’m sure it’s heartfelt. Now got out and lead by a better example. On a different note, I’d be more than happy to see some of the other QBs play. I’d love to see them by the third quarter of the SC. I wouldn’t be disappointed to see one in the first quarter actually. Roll!

With Mark Ingram having the gravitas to call him out in strong terms, and MM apologizing without reservation, it is time to move on from this. If there are additional internal remediations e.g. sitting for some period, fine. This is a blemish on his fine career but not a terminal one. Let's go play ball.

We’re at a crossroads. It’s up to the players how they choose to respond and it’s up to the coaches to get them prepared to play. We lost to Texas and struggled against USF last year, but they responded by winning the SEC and coming up short in the CFP Semis.

This team has all the talent in the world, but it all depends on the response. You messed up, now what are you gonna do with the opportunity in front of you?

Saban would have exploded and probably be in jail for murder or first degree assault

Two things I would say to Malachi Moore:
1. Don't disrespect your coaches, your teammates, and your employer that way. Most of all, do not disrespect yourself that way.
2. You may think you were portraying fierce competitiveness, but if I was an NFL scout, I would see "completely out of control when things go wrong." That is not good for your draft status. The time to get angry and fiercely competitive was at the start of the 1st quarter, not in the final two minutes when they have already beaten you. By that point, to quote Charles Barkley, just "take your butt-whoopin' like a man and move on."

I saw the apology and I'm good with that. But talk is cheap. I want to see better behavior on the field. I'm really tired of the trash talking and taunting and endzone celebrations. Tantrums just make you look childish.

So there you go...now, GET OFF MY LAWN! :p

I'm assuming there are consequences for him we won't know about beyond having a mea culpa written on twitter. If so, fine. We don't have to be privy to those. But, not sure why it took 3 days to get this out.

DeBoer says he won't be suspended and "has gone above and beyond in taking ownership." I hope the consequences for him are sufficient enough that a suspension would actually be a lesser punishment. Strong message needed to be sent (especially to a captain acting like this) and I hope it has been.

“We have handled it, and I’m just going to say this about Malachi. What he did, he has gone above and in taking ownership in it. This is pretty much immediately after the game to this morning, things that are all prompted by him, but also part of just our conversations.
I think the thing I want to make sure Bama fans know is that this guy has been rock solid and been a critical, critical piece, along with others, there are some others as well, of keeping this thing together since January. When a lot of guys chose to leave, this guy stood firm. This guy loves Alabama football, he works relentlessly out there every single day on the football field.
The questions asked about me, the passion, frustration, I mean that’s what you saw from him. Was there some things that he regrets and wishes he probably didn’t do? Yeah, but he’s owned up to it and we’ve handled it internally and still handling it internally. He’s a first class guy, he’s out in the community weekly. That’s just part of who he is, doing things to give back, understanding the platform he has.”— Kalen DeBoer

I was a 19-year coach (Tennis) in high school. The day before a match against our cross-town rivals (A very tough team) 5 of my top 8 players skipped practice without letting me know they all had (the very same conflict).

They were stunned to see 5 JV players in the lineup the next day. (Even the opposing coach was surprised I did that.)

I never had another player blow-off a practice. (And not one single parent complained about my coaching decision. That actually surprised me....)

Pavia just said the reason the pre-game hand-shakes didn’t happen was because we they met our guys for the coin toss the Bama players were talking mad smack and telling them we were going to do them like and FCS team and it ticked them off… understandably.

This makes me even more angry than I already was.

We absolutely did not take them serious which was already bad but to openly disrespect them during the coin toss where your supposed to show some sportsmanship is just disgusting.

I’m assuming MM was apart of this too since he’s a Captain and presumably JM as well.

We have a culture problem going on.

This ain’t good.

If this is true, I certainly don't want us to become what Miami was in the 80s and 90s. This is the very thing (disrespect your opponent) that CNS talked about every week in his pressers. It didn't matter if it was Mercer or Texas, you had to respect your opponent. No wonder we got beat. I know we are embarrassed. I hope the players are, too.

Well for the most part those 80s-90s Miami teams backed up their antics until the ‘93 Sugar Bowl and I don’t remember them ever losing to a team comparable to Vandy but I get what you mean for sure and we don’t want guys being disrespectful at all.

If what Pavia is saying is true we are more like Colorado with Shadeur Sanders talking smack before a game and then being down and losing because you didn’t back it up and then showing your butt because the other team clowned you and made you eat your pregame talk.

It paints a much worse image than I already had about our Leaders.

@tusks_n_raider ....Yes! Mostly what I remember about UM was before the Sugar Bowl I think they turned their backs on us when we ran out on the field or the coin toss or something before they game. I know others on here will probably remember exactly what it was.

I didn't attend UA. I wanted to, badly, but JSU was more suited for what I wanted to pursue plus it was much cheaper on my mother. And I had scholarships. I have been a Bama fan all of my life even though job responsibilities kept me from being able to follow it for many years. I just hate what all of this NIL, entitlement, and softness has done to everyone over the last decade or so. Others may disagree, and that's ok.
