So I guess nobody gets to claim a MNC before 1936 if you follow Barn...ahem.."logic". Notre Dame can forget about Knute Rockne. He didn't do squat, right Barn fans?

Let's be honest, the means by which a 'National Champion' is decided isn't the best. ALL teams have some shaky claims (ND being the worst of the bunch). But two facts CANNOT be argued:

1) Auburn University has ZERO championships. Alabama Polytechnic has 1.
2) Alabama doesn't claim the 18 awarded to us. We claim 12. If these are sketchy then why not just claim all 18? It doesn't make sense at all.

This just proves that barn fans are more concerned with Bama than their own team. How the heck is that post even relevant to a duck hunting forum? Geeze!

i'd respond that, taking what he says as truth for argument's sake, how many NCs does that leave bama with, and how many does AU have? oh, it's still a 3-1 ratio.

nice try aubie, but any way you cut it, bama is still exponentially superior to auburn.
